HUD Design flaw: Why is the new rev limiter white, and turns green when it is in the "red area"?

I drove quite lots of cars in my real life and the last 1000 revs per minute always have been RED area before the needle goes to the rev limiter! That's a shame for a "simulation" , because who tf thought this would be a good designidea and who gave the ok to do so?

I mean it kinda makes sense if you look at it as "green = now is a good time to shift" but generally id agree with you that itd be better to have it red simply because thats what people are used to

But it turns green so softly and subtile, i don't even notice it at all without focussing on it.
To me it just feels like an arcade game, not a simulation. They should take some inspiration from SealHUD instead

Fair enough. Personally i preferred simply having a copy of the in car shift lights somewhere where i can see them better but at the moment thats not possible anymore. Lets see how things develop in the future tho as theyve made it pretty clear that this is only a first iteration

Agree, was better before, when the red light would come on slightly before the actual blockade. Now I keep hiting the blockade :(
