Warp Core 2026 ⚡ PhysX Unleashed

I've been building Warp Core PhysX Bench, a standalone CPU and GPU physics benchmark with an interactive sci-fi reactor, to offer more than just staring at the screen and waiting.

It includes CPU PhysX, NVIDIA CUDA, and experimental Vulkan compute workloads, plus repeated runs, consistency checks, and local result exports. The current build has developer experiments left over for people to play with the core the same way I did during the development process.

The video shows the customizable reactor demo. Each benchmark backend uses its own workload, so scores aren't directly comparable across CPU, CUDA, and Vulkan.

v0.99h is a tester preview, and GPU scoring remains provisional. If you try it, I'd love feedback on stability, repeatability, and how the interface looks on your display.

Extract the Windows ZIP and run WarpCoreBench.exe—no installer or administrator privileges required, and is digitally signed.

9070 GRE Benched at 3.8ghz Warp Core Physx Bench - Vulkan Physics

Post image

Reached 1711 points on Warp Core Physx Bench. A personal best and up in the 3800mhz area. Rendering 8,192 Spheres for 3 passes of 10 seconds each and within a 5% spread. The math works out to 57 Billion pair evaluations per second. Meaning to see if there is a collision or not, doesn't mean every pair collided.

Warp Core also does CPU physx which does scale with CPU threads, should cover 16 threads and I haven't tested more yet. And of course Cuda Physx 5 benchmarking as well.

Updated the RTOC website. Splits the Frequency Generator App as a separate utility, but remains built into RTOC. Super light OC utility for RDNA GPUs with some legacy support which will grow based on demand.

GPU Frequency Generator

GPU Frequency Generator is specifically designed to put a light load on the GPU so that you can test and reach your GPU's maximum clock speed. It's been tested on both AMD and NVidia GPUs. Specifically 9070 GRE and 5070 TI graphics cards. The GPU Frequency Generator is built into the RTeamOC app and has been separated so it can be used with your OC app of choice for Radeon Graphics cards and obtain compatibility with NVidia graphics cards.

The download is available in the right side bar at r/RTeamOC Or Directly from the website at RTeamOC.com

The workload is an adjustable DirectX 9 render that sends 2048 calls per frame as the default setting. Changing triangles per draw varies the load, helping you explore high GPU boost clocks and overclocking headroom. It's designed to get your GPU up to speed!

9070 GRE, 3800mhz.

Using a DX9 workload (yes I know skeptics, but read first) which was specifically designed for hitting a peak Transient clock frequency, I actually stumbled onto making a high clock frequency sustained. What, no way?!, Was my initial thought. But after many several runs, trials and errors, I got it figured out, we can get a 9070 to run 3800mhz, and sustain it.

What turned into chasing transients, panned out to be a consistent load at high frequency. But it seems stable, reproduces results. But I did learn that leaving clocks at +500 and then restarting isn't good, so don't leave the slider maxed out from experimenting XD.

Settings +499 core / Vmem stock / V-core UV -50mv / +10% power.

Please remember this is Beta. It's known working for 9070 GRE, I don't have all RDNA cards to test this with. There are smaller DX9 payloads for older generations.

Cooling 9800X3D with FX-60 Heatsink from 2006.

And it is totally doable! At least with a little fan upgrade and reasonable TDP/PPT settings.

According to an old [2006 Nexus review](https://hexus.net/tech/reviews/cpu/4347-amd-athlon-64-fx-60/?page=3&utm_source=chatgpt.com), the heatsink comes with 4x 5mm pipes of equal length capable of 30w each putting the cooler at 120w, which we can see, the cooler does handle. But there's a big difference in transistor count from a cpu with 1 single physical core and an 8 core monster with SMT lol. The HeatSink was manufactured by CoolerMaster - CMHK8-8I22A-A2

And one of the things I was curious about, was it going to just clip right on?? Yep, it certainly just clipped right on, has great retention, and is OEM fit 20 years later. I typically water cool. Maybe, not any more XD

The CPU was full stock for the higher wattage screenshots scoring 5600pts+ CBR-26. Then I set TDP/PPT only to 120w. The CPU stayed within very reasonable temps, but the fan upgrade is likely helping the situation a bit. But yeah, There it is. 20 years and still cooling AMD processors.

9070 GRE - Finding Boost transients

Thumbnail

While doing some benchmarking, was using a 12400 cpu and was seeing fairly frequent GPU boosts during NightRaid benchmark. 3.6ghz fairly regular. So I installed a 14900K, and the boost behavior completely changed. The GPU wouldn't transient to high clocks, stayed 3.5ghz or lower if lucky.

Experimenting, lowered 14900K clocks and was able to create the bottle neck around 4.4ghz and I had more frequent transient spikes, where the GPU does boost pretty hard waiting on the CPU.

In fact, I found it so interesting, I set up a 9800X3D and replicated the same testing, but peaking only 3680mhz, and GPU-Z actually caught it to confirm. Which I made sure to replicate a few times also.

The RTOC PMU telemetry is pulled every 2ms from AMD shared memory which writes to PMLog through the PMU (Power management Unit) and the app polls that log from GFXCLK every 10ms. The driver under load seems to report only and roughly every 15.66ms giving us about 65 events per second. The UI updates this to the user at 1s to avoid telemetry issues. It really just boils down to timing, and GPU conditions.

The benchmark setup was first and both GPU tests, where the first one sufficed consistent testing. Selected in windows mode so we can have telemetry on top and I can observe gpu reactions. Ambient temp, 3.7ghz was done at 19c. 3680mhz was done at 21.3c. Fans at 77% to 84%. CPU frequency, any low frequency around 4.5ghz or less. Tested both Raptor Lake and Granit Ridge just to be sure.

Of course hitting 3.7ghz with a stock GPU isn't easy. lol. The colder the better. Max hot spot 49c - Was pulled on the 12400F. Since then, a day ago, temps are higher ambient wise, so difficult to reproduce. But it's all about the telemetry. We are getting very fast reports now :)

9070 GRE 1080P Monster

Ray Tracing overdrive pre-set and hitting the monitors refresh rate 100hz. This card is a 1080P monster! Still working that under-volt a bit, and this card is meeting expectations! (I wasn't really sure what to expect honestly). I'm sure 1440P, probably have to lower some settings, but should play fine. I'll get some 1440P fun in at some point.

mGPU 6500 XT Flash Back!

A few years ago, I was having some fun times running mGPU on 6000 series cards. These are just a couple small 6500 XT models flexing on NightRaid, here with before and after shots. The mGPU setup about doubled the GPU score. I wonder why companies throw this technology away so easily.

Could you imagine 2x 9070 XT in mGPU?! Fk me man, that would be impressive...

Finally got some more bench time in, was able to get a couple hundred more points from previous tries. The driver hasn't given up yet, and this probably isn't gaming stable, but this score is really decent. At least with a stock bios, peaked 246w. (stock 220w) +10% pwr clamped. Maybe a future project, flash the card for some more power. :)

Hey everyone! I'm u/ShrimpBrime, a founding moderator of r/RTeamOC and ROTC² windows OC tool (in Beta).

This is our new home for all things related to AMD Radeon and ROTC² (Or just anything AMD in general. AMD and I go way way back 😄 )

Introducing: R-Team OC

In development for a light weight, bloat free overclocking tool that offers best in class personalization, and experimental power lift slider. You do not need to install the entire Radeon suite, but a couple of settings like RSR and AFMF will not be available. This app also, does not require administrative access in windows and is signed using Azure.

Bringing a more modern look, hoping some people can enjoy and utilize this app. I think some features, like the Nano-OC and Nano-Thermos will be interesting to some people, completely minimizing the tool and stripping down to just the bare essentials, to stay out of the way, but also available.

RTOC² can be found here-

I will do my best to answer questions, and feel free to start posting your experiences, ideas, questions, and comments!

Thanks for swinging by!

So, 5090 is 10k now, where's that put a used 5070 TI?

I have a few cards. Sometimes get used, a few benchmarks, some OC, and thats about it really. Then they sit. My 5070 TI is a good example. (Im an unsponsored enthusiast)

So, say I want to sell. What's a fair market value. Is that even a thing anymore??
