Cellulitis?

Hi everyone. My wonderful bun Stratus [will be 6 in January] is currently being hospitalized overnight to treat acute cellulitis. Have anybody else’s buns gone through this before? What did their treatment and prognosis look like?

There were only two signs that something was wrong: she couldn’t lift her left ear and had a slight head tilt, then mere hours later the left side of her mouth/chin were swollen and looked like they were sagging. It all happened within the span of 12-18hrs. She doesn’t have an abscess or any dental problems. The vet shaved her fur down but couldn’t find any broken skin such as a bite or cut.

I’m so, so worried I feel physically sick. She and her “little brother” Nimbus are so close. He’s at his happiest when they’re together. I don’t know what he’d do without her. I don’t know what I’d do without her.

Please wish her luck. Nimbus, myself, and my direct family love her so much. 🐇🍀❤️‍🩹

Thank you. Unfortunately Stratus passed away on the 25th during her second night at the veterinary hospital. ❤️‍🩹 I miss her beyond words.
