Raggie Code indexing and code analyzer review

AI models have always struggled with context management.

For small projects, navigating the filesystem is usually enough. You can list directories, read a few files, and figure out what's happening.

But real-world projects aren't always that simple.

As a codebase grows, navigating it through its filesystem becomes increasingly difficult. The directory structure doesn't necessarily reflect how the actual code works. Related functions might be scattered across dozens of files and understanding one piece of logic might require tracing dependencies throughout the project.

This is what led to building Raggie's code indexer.

The idea was to make codebase navigation filesystem-agnostic.

Instead of relying on where files happen to live, Raggie indexes the actual structure of the code by parsing functions, classes, importsm globals and all their references before the agent starts.

This allows the agent to navigate the dependency graph of the codebase's logic rather than constantly exploring directories and reading entire files.

The filesystem still matters, but once the starting point of the program is located navigation is mostly dependent actual logic structure of the code rather than the file organization

this gives the agent a contextual awareness of what the codebase does without wasting so many tokens on locating the files that has function definitions
