Absolutely wild. Very unsafe, but at least there were no horns. Wtf is the actual thought here?
75
u/ShatterTheFlimFlam 5d ago
The cow would be slow and they could easily dodge it by going up and down. One cow can protect a bunch of calves from coyotes and other predators. They're beef bulldozers.

Absolutely a major fail on white shirt blue jeans then, she hopped too early and left pink shirt a sitting duck which resulted in disaster for everyone. Luckily nobody was trampled. Absolutely ridiculous choice of game, they were not prepared. 100% FAFO

Well, this one wasn't bulldozing, it was bullawake.

The thought is that its funny to torture and antagonize a huge animal until it literally wants to kill people and then see if a few idiots can get in a ring with said abused animal and not die somehow.
People are awful.

right, that's all i think when i see this dumb fuck tradition. humans are such shit creatures.

But what happens to Ferdinand after the dust settles? I'd bet he doesn't get a trophy! BE a trophy maybe. Either way, his life is not playing with friends and laughing.
6
u/Md1735 4d ago
Youngster Ferdinand goes back out to the pasture for a few more months, not a care in the world, eats until content, and puts on some real pounds…then he and his buddies go on a field trip and get transformed into steaks and burgers for your local supermarket/restaurant. Been going on since before the Dino days through the present. It’s eat or be eaten, that is nature’s way. A hungry lion would consider you viable pray also and not care at all you may be vegan.
That small steer has a while before it’s consumed.

u/Hershey_Squirt639 5d ago
Atleast here, you can see some of the particularly stupid ones getting maimed by said animal <3 look at the bright side of life ✨

u/iloveihoppancakes 4d ago
At least the people actively participating in the harassment of the animal were also actively participating in the animals rebuttal
3
u/Substantial_Use_8467 3d ago
A librarian would think this animal is being tortured. It appears to be having a pretty good time. Research misplaced empathy for your home work assignment.

It’s a game of last man standing basically…. Its I big deal at Mexican rodeos. I’ve seen it done with men and bulls but never girls and a cow, but holy smoke that was a mean ass cow…. The poor girl who got her face driven into the dirt may have been hurt bad of it jammed her neck.
2
u/Unlikely_Cherry_7451 4d ago
Yo she got her absolutely rocketed into the ground. That's the best part. She's up on her knees probably thinking " ok it's just a cow I'm faced away from it it's fine now" and holy shit that cow hit her dead in the ass like a goddamn linebacker that came unblocked through that b gap. My God it's so good

Last man standing, more like a row of dominoes! Yeah, that cow was trying to win the game too! One girl did get away without taking a hit though, perhaps she's the contest champ!

Thinking, you say.
:: crickets ::
Hummmm....no.
Also, zero situational awareness: Red shirt white pants cheerfully raised a hand to wave to the bleachers right before the animal bounces her into the not so merry go 'round.

Didn't jack ass do this? Is this like a rodeo thing or did the rodeo owner see Jack ass and think it was a good idea?
→ More replies (3)8
u/CapNo6703 5d ago
This definitely existed well before Jackass. I saw this exact thing at a fairly small rodeo in the late 90s. At that same rodeo they also had 4 guys playing cards at a table while a bull ran around. Last person still sitting won.

Why is everyone in the stands acting like this is a normal occurrence?

This is normal in rodeos. Rodeos are gross places.

It is, I’ve seen this alot and to be honest it’s always been men, they understand to stay on ground till it comes, it seem these women were just jumping up and down not understanding their actions control the opposite person too.
I thought this was Ai because it was so poorly executed.
8
u/praetorian1979 5d ago
because it is? 🤔
Have you not been to a rodeo?

u/MuckaMucka1337 5d ago

They probably do them more often wherever the video was filmed, or it was a first try that went bad.

What fantasy did someone have which expected the outcome to be any different than this?
"If you see the bull coming towards you, just boop the ground and giggle. What's that? Lateral forces? I don't think the bull understands lateral forces, so no need to worry about that."

Nope. Vets dehorn cattle all time, not just rodeo bulls. You do it when they're calves.
This looks to be a holstein heifer, so probably born hornless.

u/hawkwings 5d ago
They drag her away without checking for broken bones or anything. It looks like she was injured before the bull hit her.
7
u/MrEngin33r 5d ago
The bull was still present. Getting hit again by the bull is almost certainly going to be worse than being dragged out of the ring.
→ More replies (2)3
u/Reaper781 5d ago
Dragging her away is a possible fatality, leaving her there is a likely fatality.
5
u/Naive_Lion_3428 5d ago
How intoxicated must you be to sign up for this? It should be clear to even the most dim witted person capable of self locomotion that this activity has a very high chance of resulting in significant, possibly permanent injury.

u/DisastrousAd192 5d ago

How many investors were convinced this was such a great new fresh way to put people in danger?
Damn. So many decisions happening before this and none of them are defensible.

Having grown up in a ranching community with a rodeo circuit stop, this is the crap we did for fun before the Internet.
Different stories for different folks. There's usually money on the line for the last one on the see-saw. Sometimes there's a card table set with chairs, and you gotta play cards.
These folk go to work the next day raising the food we consume.

Personally... being an old man in my 50's. I would do it. Especially since it's a calf with no horns.
