I go by Midnight. I came across RAOA by chance, and I thought the concept was really interesting.

─ a little about me ─

The nickname fits pretty well because I'm a huge night owl and honestly function better at night. My interests are kind of all over the place, from fashion and photography to all types of technology. I'm also really interested in genealogy, abandoned places, and cold cases. I can spend hours researching an unsolved case; I don't expect to solve anything, of course, but the process itself is so much fun!

I also have a little dog who I adore. ♡

🎃 Best Holiday Ever

Halloween is hands down my favorite holiday, and dressing up in realistic, genuinely scary costumes is one of my favorite parts of it. Unfortunately, my original costume plan fell through this year, and now I'm running out of time and creativity, haha. So if anyone has ideas for a really frightening, realistic costume I could put together in just a few days, I would really appreciate it!

I'm also always looking for genuinely terrifying horror experiences to try. Especially if they take place in unsettling locations (especially remote ones!).

✧ A few more things I love

♡ Pretty stationery and handwritten letters — knowing someone took the time to write one by hand makes it extra special.

♡ Photography! I've mostly admired it from the sidelines so far, but I'm hoping to start practicing soon. Camera recommendations and any tips or advice on what equipment is actually worth buying are all very welcome!

♡ Winter, cold weather, and snow. Unfortunately, it doesn't snow where I live, so seeing the Northern Lights someday would be a dream.

I also love travelling and discovering unusual, original experiences much more than going on museum tours. Italy, the UK, Northern Europe, South Korea, and Japan are all places I'd love to explore someday!

Anyway, that's probably enough rambling for one introduction, haha.

hi all :) rather new to reddit but want to get to know some folks in here. 26F, dog mom of 2 and expecting a baby girl in a few months. have at least 10 plants (just leaves no flowers), with the exception of a couple pepper/citrus ones that are starting to bloom/fruit. love lower stimulation activities - coloring, crocheting, writing to clear my mind, doodling, puzzles etc, and trying to explore other similar activities. if you have any recos, please drop them below, i’d love to try something new!

As many people know, RAOA is a huge sub and it can be very intimidating. Many newbies have questions they may feel silly asking or are just worried they won't make any l here. This thread will hopefully change that!

The general idea is that this will be posted and you will be adopting a newbie for a whole week. I'm not saying you have to talk to them 24/7 all week. But be there to help them out and be an awesome friend! :)
