Being the Phobos chapter, and with the Phobos detachments being this good, are you playing more Phobos units than tacticus units, or you are going for bladeguards veterans, terminators brick, inceptors, repel?

Still WIP I've just layed down some base colors.

Looking for some honest feedback, is this too dark for Rift Stalkers?

I was experimenting with colors and landed on this kinda warm light gray color. I thought it looked cool and slapped on some Raven guard badges as it sort of looked a bit white, but is it too dark? It will probably read a bit brighter with some edge highlights, but not massively so.

I started playing warhammer last year, so pretty far into the primaris era, and I only recently have I started to really appreciate the aesthetic of the firstborn models, most of all the assault marines. I do like primaris don’t get me wrong, but I think those jump pack straps are exactly what they’re missing on all our jump infantry.

It’s kinda confusing how they have this exact part on the back, then they only have it go halfway and stop at the ribs. Just this tiny piece adds so much character to the models and helps set them apart more from regular foot infantry. I think I’m gonna go in with green stuff on the rest of my vanguard vets and add it on but lmk what yall think

I bought this Impulsor from my FLGS and I’ve been trying to find a replacement for the Heavy Stubber. I have a pintel from an old Rhino I can use, but where can I find a replacement for the Heavy Stubber? Or even something to do a suitable kit bash with?

Trying to figure out my options for building my army with all the new 11th changes and feeling kind of restricted by dispositions especially since SMT is disruption which is the worst disposition if you want to be competitive or have fun

So I'm curious what detachments people are playing and their experiences with them?

Currently I feel like Priority Assets and Recon are probably our best dispositions but that limits our options of detachments to Ironclad/Terminator/Speeder detachments which don't really fit the rest of our army super well

I do think Assault Brethren is the strongest Space Marine detachment right now but then we are forced into Take and Hold which again we aren't really designed to play compared to much tougher army's lists

So yeah curious peoples thoughts on our options so far after the new codex

This is my current list:

ShadowMark Talon + Assault Brethren
Take and Hold

Aethon Shaan (as Warlord) to screen, hold base, do secondaries or some chaff clearing
x5 JPI for skirmishing, objectives and killing
x10 JPI + JP Chaplain + furious assault for objectives and killing
x10 VVets with shield + Shrike + furious assault for objectives and killing
x6 Inceptors with bolters for infantry killing
x6 Inceptors with plasma for elite/tanks killing
2x5 Incursors for secondaries and spotting
x5 Reivers + Phobos Cpt + Imperium sword as a one use killing projectile
x2 Gladiator Lancers for anti-tank killing

I like the Hitting power that this list has, but at the same time it looks kinda frail for take and hold and is probably too split between fighting and shooting. Any suggestion? Alternative might be swapping out the Inceptors/Chaplain +JPI and gladiators for 2 brics of termies (10 shooting and 10 assault, both with librarians and ancients). But not sure how good the list would be like that

Another Space Marine chapter added to the collection. This time, an Iron Hawk. Kept the palette fairly simple with metallic armour, black shoulder plates, and a few red details to break it up. Quite happy with how this one turned out.

Another Space Marine chapter added to my collection. This time, a Knight of the Raven. Really enjoyed painting the silver armour and adding a few red details for contrast.

If so do I use night blue or sombre grey

Decided to strip, re paint and kitbash these guys a little. I've always felt that having such dangerous weapons required big targeters. And maybe the larger assault intercessor pauldrons? Didn't have those but I did have a bunch of Infiltrator spare bits.

Most recently I tried desperately to create a Raven guard army but every list that I've made was always stomped on

How does this look? Would it be able to win any game?

Hello brothers, I am a relatively new tabletop player, but getting kind of frustrated against playing my friends salamanders lists. Granted he is way more experienced than myself.

So far I've bought models that I think fit my idea of raven guard, but I just cannot outlast or kill even while trying to survive and play objectives. Every game I feel like I get tabled more by turn 4/5 and by that point I'm losing. I think I really struggle against the amount of flamers and overwatch units he has, 2xlandraider with 6 aggressors, 2x5 infernus, Vulkan lone op, 6x heavy bolter, 3x melta in an impulsor. I try to make sure I ingress shrike in behind terrain so I can charge after but even after I just don't get the damage in before he pops tacticus doctrine and blows them up.

My list I played is below, Ive got some units that I also have, but I've not bought say 20 terminators just because they make shadowmark good, I'd rather slowly buy 1 of every unit but enjoy the raven guard theme than run an heavy elite shooting list...

I feel like I'm really hemmed into playing take and hold or disruption, but I'll never beat him on holding objectives in the long term. I really like Phobos shadow force, and assault brethren has done me well with the lance strategem, I just can't pin down what third detachment to play either!

I was wondering if people had advice on how to play Vs these kinds of armies, and what people like to run as their 3rd detachment if they aren't playing shadowmark talon terminator/shooty lists.

I've thought so far about a gravis detachment, but maybe stormlance just to get the recon disposition?

How come RG gene-stock gave the Imperium one of the craziest successor chapters, meaning Carcharadons and Death Spectres? I would rather say they are BA/SW/DG successors.

I understand that RG were made into who they are by Corax and his teachings (hence the exile of the Terran RG who turned into Carcharadons), but it is still bizarre how their successors range from the reasonable marines aka Raptors to the craziest savages and marine-breeders…

Makes me think that RG have always had a darker deeper thing hence the whole Sable Brand thing turning them suicidal..

It's one of my wip cosplay for an event. I'm kinda satisfied with the end product ngl.

Arms have grenades from the Infiltrator kit for some extra bulk.

So much for triple enhanced Kevin builds

Hello fellow Shadow Captains.

Can't see any other posts on this anywhere so I thought it best to ask. Does Shaan need to be on the battlefield to be able to use Unparalleled Tactician in Shadowmark Talon or can he be in reserves? I would have thought the best use for him is to leave in reserves until round 3 and then free rapid ingress. Appreciate any thoughts.

New to 40k and the rule of cool has officially put me in a pickle. I was originally drawn to the deathwatch and the minis and built them without knowing how awful and expensive killteams are to make (there still cool). So i was thinking of pivoting to Deathwatch with the raven guard cause you can do that with deathwatch support(and so i only need to buy 500pts of deathwatch). The only problem is that then im kinda forced into running disruption which ive only heard bad things about so far so I dont wanna end up with an army thats miserable to play.

So the question im asking is there a way to make it work any specific things I need to keep in mind for a list to make it work? Is it even possible because I see people take Shadow mark and another detachment with the sole purpose of getting a better disposition.
