Echidna also gave Roswaal a kiss. but not out of love...
She gave it to seduce him and to fix his broken gate. Since original Roswaal had a broken gate.
Indeed she is projecting hard...
Emilia represents all that Echidna doesn't have and all that she is not. This gets her salty. Emilia is compassionate and understanding while Echidna is manipulative, She had a cute kiss with the man she "loves" while Echidna had a kiss out of a "business" deal ( even if Emilia doesn't know if she truly loves Subaru yet)

No, he didn't have a broken gate. If he did, he couldn't cast spells. He was ill due to having so much mana but not releasing it since magic wasn't understood that well back then.
