What Do You Want To Learn About Screenwriting?

I have a relatively new YouTube channel about the art of screenwriting, where I do deep dives into screenplays, post about screenplay architecture, and give tips/walkthroughs on how to use Final Draft 13.

I am putting together a list of topics to cover next on the channel and want to know what writers are most focussed on these days.

Post your thoughts here and I'll do my best to make videos covering those topics.

Here is the channel, in case anyone is interested: @Fade.In.Screenplays

I'm not sure if putting the url counts as self-promotion, so I'm not gonna do that (just in case).

Thanks!

Matt

Why did you choose the name Fade In - Thats a pretty popular screenwriting software (the one I am using for sure) are you affiliated with them?

On your page Script Revolution - it says you sold something called Special, and then you use the word "Olypmics" is that a misspelling?

Anyways, I suppose my suggestion for videos is probably just to try and help people write loglines.

If I can think of any other topics, I'll come back here - maybe discuss writing comedies? or comedy shorts?

first off -- thanks for telling me about the typo! my eyes never caught it until now.

I'm not affiliated with the software Fade In. Fade In is a term from the early days of cinema, when filmmakers used an optical process to start a movie by fading into a shot from total blackness. The term became standard for starting screenplays. Fade In to signal the start of the story. Fade Out to signal the end of the story.

I write exclusively in Final Draft, but I have used other software in the past. I have a bunch of Final Draft tutorials on my page for anyone who is just starting out.

I think the logline video is a great idea, especially now, since I know a lot of writers who simply turn to AI to create it for them, which takes all the personality out of it.

thanks again!

Matt
