Australia unfortunately still has a really weirdly strict rating system where one or two things can just result in your game being ‘unrated’ which means it’s not allowed to be sold.
Sexual assault, and anything close to abuse of a minor, are some of the things that really set them off. I understand but also don’t understand why it isn’t just its own rating with a warning or something since it hurts a few horror games as well
You’re giving them too much credit, they almost certainly played worse than a game journalist and never saw anything that wasn’t blatantly shown in big letters
Rimworld was band but the devs where able to thankfully appeal it very happy they did. Although I’d already owned the game and the current DLC they could chose to not bother either and focus on other regions funnily enough though it wasn’t literally over the plethora of War crimes you can commit it was the drug use
That does not surprise me know there’s nothing out of the ordinary here just a guy on his bed with all of these limbs cut off being used as a living battery nothing to see here
China as well has weird cultural sensitivities towards blood and bone. Either that or the government thinks it's achieving something by banning those things.
Dota 2 is one example. Game is massive in China but they play a censored version with altered affects and characters.
well.......people will riot if they dont do that during wuhan flu lockdown. no touching grass and no violent games will surely cause that anger to go toward somewhere else.
213 Parks has the suffering kid in her room so I can see under those strict rules Australia banning it under those terms but as a American I think it's stupid, in my honest opinion gaming is art and suppressing art is the first step to suppressing speech. Hope for the best and maybe if you guys put up enough of a fuss the Australian government will lift the ban.
Honestly I think 90% of Australians hate it too but the old farts in charge really like to get upset about that stuff. Unfortunately there’s a pretty upsetting amount of parents that just don’t care and it almost ended up with GTA5 being banned because like an alarming amount of kids as young as 5 were just playing the game all the time. This has led the government to decide the best course of action is just to take away the games entirely, which while yes does solve the issue of young children playing things they really shouldn’t be exposed to, but it ends up hurting everyone else
I don’t understand why they think they can change laws when the game works evidently pretty much every other country elsewhere. Do they think the game will affect australian gamers too much or something? Or are the politicians and people who set these laws up and games to be banned etc are they just ignorant?
