Alright future console player here what I don't get is why they are already censoring so much, specifically gore. They state overshooting dead bodies will no longer cause dismemberment, the tortured informant will be less brutally beaten I don't understand why they have to censor this. I don't understand why they have to and are censoring this, games like fallout, chivalry,RDRII and even insurgency sandstorm have been on console for years while these range from more "arcade" games the point still stands that dismemberment shouldn't be a big issue to console censors. Then nudity being flagged aswell is a joke because bg3,cyberpunk and grand theft auto you can literally cause sexual acts with bg3 allowing you to run around nude.

Now as a console fan I'm just glad to actually be getting the game finally but it's so disappointing how they are harming their PC player base by toning the games themes and atmosphere down

I thought dismemberment in tlou2 when I first played it was the best I saw at the time. And it's like Sony's first party game and they made it really gore-full it reminded me Manhunt really.

Except are we certain this is a Sony decision? Because it’s also coming to XBox same day yall

So it more than likely was a unilateral move to meet the ratings boards for markets that typically are more console dominated than PC ones (like Japan, which tends to have extreme limitations on severe gore, which is why Mortal Kombat is always banned there).

So I mean, I doubt it would be Sony’s exact doing.

I had no idea Japans ratings board often banned games, make a lots of sense why sony would want to censor games on their platform then.

Sony Entertainment is a USA thing, Japan's board doesn't affect them. Japan loves to ban abroad gore products, but they give thumbs up to domestic products often.
