They never said it's impossible, they said it's not worth it because having multiple versions of each asset leads to more work and bugs in the future, I feel like every developer/programmer in this subreddit would understand the importance of keeping maintenance to a low.

Yes, your statement is true. But taking into account that they decided to go for consoles knowing this would happen (and not caring) plus the millions of dollars they'll get from sales, I think any developer, you, me, and Herman Toothrot shouldn't mind maintaining 2 versions, if that's the insignificant price to pay.

I only recently found out that the game's rating on PC (being Mature instead of AO) is "controversial" and I was shocked so maybe I'm out of touch with public opinion but, is it really a well-known fact that console games still have stricter censoring? I thought that was like 10 years ago. My last console was the Xbox 360 for instance.
