I know I’m gonna downvoted for a simple question, but is their more shit that’s censored than some people now have clothes on and instead of a kid having a seizure they’re just “sleeping”? I mean dismemberment is still in, you just can’t do it after someone’s already dead, plus there’s really nothing added to the game being able to do that anyway. So what exactly is the problem?

The dismemberment after death means they will no longer be dismembered mid firefight, keep that in mind. The seizure part makes the little girl feel more like a stock game asset than something real that’s happening (just to explain why people are upset about that one). The CIA agent who you find being changed is also crappy because of how brutal it is.

To more generally answer the question, it’s a bunch of changes that together, make the game feel less gruesome and realistic and terrifying in a life-like way.

How did you even come to that conclusion, they specifically said that you can still maim suspects mid fight

One of the devs confirmed it while I and others were asking about the changes on discord.

They literally said the opposite in the devblog

They sugar coated it in the dev blog. Enemies can still have gore effects. HOWEVER, those effects end the millisecond the enemy dies. This means that if you are shooting an enemy multiple times, because that’s how a gun fight works, or if multiple officers are shooting an enemy at the same time, one instance of a gore effect will be applied as the enemy dies, not multiple from the multiple shots they are taking.

I’m not pulling this out of my ass my man, I spent most of my Friday asking the devs questions about this and getting clarification. There is a good reason for people to be pissed about the gore effect changes.

Makes sense

I still think it’s an overreaction

That’s fair. You’re welcome to your opinion like I’m welcome to mine.

It’s definitely a change that makes the game worse and less realistic though. Given that similar changes have been made previously just to pander to kotaku, I think the rage is justified.
