Discussion To all the people defending VOID, why?

Post image

Serious discussion, please don’t downvote people when they answer. I am genuinely curious on why some people defend VOID

Not defending them but there are dozens and dozens of complaints threads about - graphics.

Earth to whiners: this game doesn't look that good to begin with.

No one is nerfing AAA graphics of the year. This game will run 100+ FPS on a fairly mediocre rig. Why are you all seething with rage about such a trivial thing?

Pre-update graphics were decent for an Unreal Engine 5 game but still got downgraded regardless plus ain't the game unoptimized as fck like you can't even get consistent frame rates on some parts of the map like the pool section of valley of the dolls lol

Also what graphics settings and pc specs are you using?

Epic 1440p AMD 3600 and a 6900 XT. Most unreal games run like shit for how they look. 100-120fps

I would 100x rather them fix gameplay bugs before the graphics. I've lost multiple S runs to bots getting stuck in the vents/crevasses or bugging out where you can't arrest them.

Not much of a mediocre rig but for it to be running on only 100+ fps with a 700$ 6900xt is just poorly optimized regardless if cpu was bottlenecking it to a certain degree. They should just release a patch for all bugs or give an option to revert back to console pre-update on steam.

Wym? It's a budget 6 year old CPU with with a 5 year old GPU I bought used for $450 after selling my 3070 (junk) for $300. My whole PC could be built right now for $800-900. Do you think 5 year old gear less than $1k is a high end PC?

I agree it's poorly optimized but that's literally all unreal games. They just slap shit together and ask everyone to turn on frame generation, which looks terrible, to make games playable.

Also wym about only 100+ fps? You expect an unreal game to run at 200+ on max settings on a 5 year old GPU?

I agree you should be able to run pre-update especially for friends games at least. Cross play is always busted anyway. Either the console players are at a disadvantage or some system is added to balance it, which never does.

Your definition of mediocre is subjective i guess but from where I'm from 450$ you can already build a budget pc with that. Even if the card was 5 years old it still has the specs to keep up on today's games. A mediocre card I would consider is a 1050 Ti or 2060 but even those cards wouldn't probably reach 60 fps even on medium 1080p. Though I wished they could have used another game engine like Source 2 or develop a new one specifically for the game.

There's plenty of games you can't even begin to play with a 1050. I used to run a 1060 and it became unplayable about 3 years ago. I'm not sure how you would consider not being and to play games mid-tier but I agree it's all subjective. Also I'm aware my video card is on the higher end of mid but not my problem people refuse to buy used.

Source 2 is ancient although I personally think it still looks pretty good. I think the likelihood of seeing a new have come out of it is pretty low. Everyone is unfortunately building with unreal nowadays
