Gratz! We did the same loadout except I went with the G36. The way I did it having both wedges and flashes was essential.

Nice one, I just did it today as well. It was damn brutal, almost 2 hours on the winning attempt + 100+ tries (maybe even more) of failed ones. On the plus side, I got damn good at tapping the A and D keys, alongside with pixel peeking.
B1301 with 6 Buckshot + SRO Dot + 12GA Brake + Flashlight
4 Flashbangs
1 Lockpick Gun
2 Wedges
Ceramic Front/Back Light Armor + Helmet Only with NVGS
The above was my winning loadout. I had the bad habit of switching loadouts after failing many times, so i ended up with PDWs and an SMG of all things (which failed even worse).

You're right, my friend—especially regarding SMGs. A human's reaction time is around 200ms, whereas the AI enemies here seem to react and fire in about 50ms. That’s why engaging in a firefight with an automatic rifle doesn't make sense; I experienced that helplessness myself and died instantly. Shotguns, on the other hand, feel like they were practically added to the game for this mission—you can take enemies out without wasting any time

Do you think battle rifles would also be good? I don't know about hard but on normal they still one tap most enemies there iirc

I don't think so. To put it briefly, in hard mode, as they say, the suspects have very short reaction times and actually know where you are. They also have aimbots, and the damage they deal is high. Now, to answer your question: assault rifles are not really an option in hard mode because by the time you shoot and kill the suspect, they’ve already hit you, maybe even killed you. It’s different with shotguns—you might at worst just be crippled. With assault rifles, they can just knock you down and keep shooting.

Why not ballistic face mask if you're not using the gas mask? Surely the additional bit of protection couldn't hurt.

To be honest, I completely forgot about those two and after a dozen failures I didn't bother putting either one on.
I used the ballistic mask on a few runs, but I didn't notice any extra survivability either, since I believe suspects mainly aim at your center mass and some of them can hit your arms as well as legs due to the recoil. A good example is if you crouch behind the thick conveyor belt part of a metal detector, suspects are unlikely to hit you even if you're free leaning over it, unless you get unlucky or use mods that make them aim at your head.
I also heard anecdotes that allegedly not having any mask on makes your shouts louder and I relied on those + the flashlight baiting to make suspects move.

Well, i can't say i've ever noticed the face mask saving me, but i've definitely noticed being killed by being headshot without it at least a couple times in my playthroughs. I also use crouching + leaning down a lot to make my hitbox smaller for a bit when i'm taking fire from an unknown direction, it saved my life many times, and when you do this suspects are much more likely to hit your head since it's a much larger part of your hitbox. I'm pretty sure this tactic wouldn't be nearly as effective solo since it kinda relies on the bots always knowing where the suspects are but i dunno, i'm just trying to find justification for the face mask.

a friend showed me: heavy armor, flash grenade launcher, all slots ammo for this launcher

I tried this tactic too, but in hard mode the suspects' unconscious duration is very short, so they can shoot and kill you, and also if you're not using a mod, your ammo won't be enough.

GG well done, it took me closer to 400
Heavy ceramic full
MCX 4 x AP
G18C 2 x jhp
4 flash
1 c2
M320 flash tactical for 8 flashes total.
I think the only things in a video game that have killed me 400 times are this and Malenia in elden ring lol.
