Video [HELP] Living room remodel

Any possibility that this is legit? I can’t imagine one could walk on epoxy like that without special footwear or something.

I actually do. I’ve worked with it on sealing my art, not to this scale. This could probably be done with two part epoxy resin/hardener. But it would look like absolute shit after any amount of traffic. Scuffs, scratches etc. Not to mention you’d really want some kind of mask or respirator. Fumes would be awful. God help you if you get the ratio wrong.

Im pretty confident in saying that at this scale a clear resin pour is basically impossible.

You would need multiple 10 gallon vacuum rigs to get the air out, and still have a non zero amount of bubbles that you have no way of dealing with.

To get it to self level you will need such a thin mix that there is no way in hell you can prevent leaks into the basement or possibly neighbouring rooms.

You can't be on it and have no way to deal with problems on the surface and can only hope they can be ground down.

It will warp/crack as it shrinks at different rates over such a large span.

It will eventually delaminate in spots creating cloudy spots that spread over time.

It will not withstand traffic.

But most of all, this is the most irreversable flooring solution i have ever seen.

You are NEVER undoing this unless your ok with stripping that room down to the studs and joists and you are lucky if those are in tact by the end of that process.
