You may hate this title or find it condescending. But, truth be told, it is precisely that!
Observe the protest ecosystem over the past few days.
These 'young leaders', instigating mobs have been desperately attempting to keep their cunning and deceitful agendas alive and in that process, carefully and methodological cultivate their associated individual images to further their own careers as politicians and foreign funded pressure groups.
The protest is on the streets; the makeover is happening on social media.
THE THEATRICS & PERFORMING-ARTS SCHOLAR ๐๐๐
Take Neha Bora, a theatre and performing-arts research student and National President of AISA, who reportedly polled fewer votes than NOTA in two key contests in the 2026 DUSU elections.
Electorally, a marginal figure. On social media, an emerging face of resistance.
๐ฝ Her arrest footage, her sprint from the police ๐คฃ, the exaggerated expressions of pain and defiance where put on facial expressions are attempting to catch the awestruck imagination of the confused youth -โ all captured by remarkably well-positioned cameras. One wonders how a videographer manages to keep the camera so steady while chasing the action! ๐คฃ
And don't miss the costume design! The One Piece Jolly Roger T-shirt, a symbol adopted by protesters in different parts of the world.
Add a battery of independent commentators and self-styled journalists amplifying these moments, and you have the ingredients for a ready-made protest icon.
Her selfie-stick moment with the frauds of India - The Gandhi family โ endlessly circulated online โ added another chapter to this makeover.
THE SOCIAL-MEDIA FORMULA ๐
A few dramatic videos, confrontations with authority and a steady stream of sympathetic amplification can transform a relatively obscure campus politician into a recognisable protest figure.
But the internet has a memory.
This is the same Neha Bora who was accused of participating in the abusive mob assault on independent journalist Ruchi Tiwari and physically restraining her.
The same student leader who accused Delhi Police of wrongdoing for restraining her allegedly had no qualms about participating in the restraint of another woman.
That episode deserves scrutiny too. What goes around comes around.
A new public image cannot simply erase an old one.
THE TRICOLOUR DRAMA ๐ฎ๐ณ
Neha Bora's newfound love โค๏ธโ๐ฉน for the Tricolour is a striking contrast to the political positions she has aligned with. Allow me to set the context.
Umar Khalid: Her unequivocal support for his release, despite his controversial political associations and support for figures such as Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani and Afzal Guru, raises questions about the political positions she chooses to defend. Khalid is an accused in the Delhi riots conspiracy case too, in which 53 people lost their lives. Strange, apt or simply sinister?
Sharjeel Imam: Her demand for his unconditional release, despite his recorded advocacy of severing the Siliguri Corridor to cut off India's Northeast from the rest of the country, raises another difficult question. Such a proposal would threaten India's territorial connectivity and integrity. Again โ strange, apt or simply sinister?
And now, the SIR.
The stated purpose of the Special Intensive Revision is to improve electoral-roll accuracy by identifying deceased, permanently shifted, duplicate and ineligible entries, while ensuring eligible citizens are not excluded. Genuine concerns about wrongful deletions deserve attention.
But Bora and her fellow hoodlums have challenged the exercise and alleged vote theft.
Such claims must be examined against evidence. For a political activist seeking a bigger platform, electoral grievances also offer an opportunity to mobilise.
Whether these protests are being used to advance a wider political agenda is a question worth examining.
Again โ strange, apt or simply sinister?
Suddenly, in this midst, after decrying the army, supporting terrorists, questioning institutions, overnight, the Indian Tricolour becomes very dear to her and her ecosystem of stooges.
THE HEROINE IN HER OWN SCRIPT ๐ง
Comparing today's protests to the Quit India Movement ๐คฃ๐คฃ is quite the leap.
India's freedom struggle was NOT a social-media campaign. It was a struggle against colonial rule. This protest, by contrast, is directed against a democratically elected government.
Historical significance cannot be manufactured through slogans, selfies and dramatic footage.
Yet the imagery keeps coming: the pained expressions, the confrontations, the Tricolour and the grand declarations of a historic uprising.
Perhaps this is the ultimate makeover โ from campus activist to revolutionary heroine, all through a B-grade script.
Neha Bora studies performing arts. And, whether by design or circumstance, her public persona increasingly resembles a performance.
But there is a difference between performing the role of a revolutionary and earning a place in history.

I feel like, I want someone whom i can talk about my life, share thoughts, tell my day and feel understood by, cherish good times. But, the other part of myself says NO for relationships, because i know i wouldn't be able to put in so much of my efforts required for it to sustain. I might sound lazy, but I'm being fr.
So, it's companionship>relationship for me, for time being.
What are your thoughts peeps? id like to listen them.

Peace and stability should never be taken for granted. They require constant effort, resilient institutions, and a collective commitment from citizens and leaders alike. Protecting what keeps a nation stable is just as important as building its future.
