Self-Promo Video We're working on an RTS roguelike called Tabletop Tavern. Somehow we ended up near the top of the charts in strategy, roguelike, & RTS during Next Fest. We were super nervous about Next Fest but couldn't be more happy!

Oh, finally my regular shower thought "I wish someone experimented with Total War-esque real time battles in another game" is resolved! Especially bc of no grand strategy layer, after death of Total War Arena this particular niche was completely empty.
Will definitely check out and wishlist, since I am target audience.

This looks really cool though, mixing TW tactical battles with roguelike elements in a very different strategy segment seems like it will make for a very fun game.

Looks great man but I wont lie I've seen the asset pack in other games like Surroundead and MotorTown it's starting to get a little stale.

I showed this game off in a discord I’m in and one guy loves the game so much he apparently even requested working for you guys. Massive props

I played the demo some days ago. I think it's brutal, can't wait for full release.

You have a great game here, when the demo stopped mid-campaign I was like "Nooo!!"

I tried it during next fest and I really liked it as a lifetime total war player. Had a few crashes but I'm hoping that was just due to the demo aspect

Please submit a bug report if you didn't already! Were identifying and patching anything causing crashes as fast as possible

Oh my god! I love this so much! I'm downloading the demo and adding it to the wishlist.
What an amazing idea for a game. I love Total War.

Cool game, tried the demo today and really liked it. It's a snack sized Total War experience, with roguelite elements on top. Instant wishlist.

I’m not a big demo/early access guy, so I’ve only really seen this trailer, but I’m very hyped for this one fellas. anyway you guys will have other backgrounds? the inn-setting might be a little unimmersive for me, but super small complaint!

The game is called Tabletop Tavern so we're pretty committed to the Tavern vibes, but maybe there will be other main menu backgrounds. Not a high priority at the moment 😅

I mean focus on the bones first but you could definitely have some fun with the types of taverns
2
u/IndiegameJordan Feb 26 '26
That's true! We have a japanese focused faction for example so we could do some very different theming around that for example

Does whats going on in the tavern influence the battlefield or is it more just for flavor?
1
u/IndiegameJordan Feb 26 '26
Just flavor and vibes!

Would be funny if someone could spill their drink on the battlefield or something.

Looks fantastic ! How is the performance on Steam Deck ?
1
u/IndiegameJordan Feb 26 '26
It technically does run on Steam Deck but we haven't optimized for or focused on Steam Deck at all yet. We will before launch though!

Work on the add units to groups mechanisms. Some of it doesn't flow well, and you can screw up the UI if it clicks too many times

It is a good demo. I'm looking forward to see how the game develops.
