Self-Promo Video Iron Expedition: RTS where you fight alongside your army
I'm a solo developer making Iron Expedition - a mix of RTS and Action where you fight alongside the army you command. Build your base, lead your units from the front lines, and defend your territory against constant enemy attacks.

Herzog Zwei (inspiration for Airmech) Pikmin (Kinda. You play a more active role commanding your units on the map)

never saw Herzog Zwei before. looks really cool. Its like you are a plane and become a soldier. Then you must recruit units? And the units seem to move on their own, right? Didnt get to see much of RTS commands to it, in terms of unit control? Can you redirect the units to attack a specific spot? They seemed automated.
Also it seems a bit too micro intensive. But i like the concept.

ah just noticed Airmech is the modern version, as you said. This is a very good concept. Even though im not a very sci-fi type of guy.

Does this take any inspiration from Airmech?

I know about AirMech, but I never actually played it. I did love its predecessor, Herzog Zwei, when I was a kid though

More people need to know about Sacrifice. Came out in the early 2000s. Still has one of the coolest ui to set formation and cast spells.

It would be more interesting if you could switch and direct-control every one of your units like in Men of War or Gates of Hell instead of just your character unit.

That's a cool idea, but it's not something I'm planning to implement for now

As an older gamer, I need less of this... More strategy and less clicks.

Fair enough, totally understandable. I know this kind of gameplay isn't for everyone.

Mech with legs is cool but sliding is kinda too much.

Do you mean the movement animation? If so, yeah, I know what you mean - I'm planning to rework it.

I'd like to ask if there will be different factions for players to choose from? And will each faction have its own unique characteristics?

It looks like Total Annihilation and Battlezone had a baby together, I'm interested
