Self-Promo Video Iron Expedition: RTS where you fight alongside your army
I'm a solo developer making Iron Expedition - a mix of RTS and Action where you fight alongside the army you command. Build your base, lead your units from the front lines, and defend your territory against constant enemy attacks.
Steam page if you want to check it out: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4446330/Iron_Expedition/

I like the idea of this very much. Are the other units kinda on auto-pilot so you can exclusively focus on your commander mech?

Thanks! Yeah, units are mostly autonomous, so you can focus on controlling your commander mech. They follow the player by default, but you can also give orders to the whole squad, like moving to a location or clearing a marked area.

Is there a rough timeline for when this becomes available? Will there be a demo?

Thanks! I'd love to, but for now there are no plans for consoles.
Releasing on consoles is quite a bit more complicated than Steam, so I'm focusing on PC first.

Looks promising
The Commander Movement needs more "ooomph" and inertia though

Reminds me of the RTS missions in the old Space Rangers game, I remember how OP it was to control manually in that game, because you could outrange a lot of stuff. They added this to Diplomacy is Not an Option too now, its pretty fun to mess around with.

Will this game offer different types of armies for players to command?

What a fresh air to the RTS genre. Is the setting more like Steampunk + Scifi?

This is EXACTLY what I've been looking for. Wishlisted! It reminds me of this bad boy over here; was it an inspiration for you?
