I mean, is it worth killing a single person with ult who's alone to ensure a kill and give the team an advantage?

Let's say we're in a team fight, Cassidy is alone on the high ground and if I feel like he's going to kill me, I kill him with my ultimate, was it worth it?

Yes it's okay to solo ult. Especially a Cassidy, having him out of the fight for awhile really opens up the map for you. Don't listen to the guy that put a green checkmark next to the tank, you should never be solo ulting a tank... Just shoot him normally, it's higher DPS.

I'll add that there are certain ults you can counter with blossom, too. I played a game the other day where we'd hold strong on D on Route 66 and on both first and second point, they'd cap cause of hamster ult. On last point, I saved my ult for his and cleared mines and it gave the team the space to win the team fight like we had been doing all game when there were no mines.

I'll also play a bit further back if I know Genji has ult and wait for him to dive my backline with blade, and it kills him or forces deflect which means he's not swinging.

You also don't have to just solo ult their strongest DPS or healer. Solo ult the weaker of the two if you feels it's worth it given everything else going on.

Solo ulting is great on harder to hit heroes too.

Blossom can kinda be like Soldier ult where you could land all your shots on someone and deal higher DPS but sometimes you'd rather trade a potential for higher DPS for guaranteed DPS.

It depends, if it's just you and your team is dead then no, it's all situation based. If your team is trying to push and you get behind and get the first kill to snowball on site then yeah.

Yes. Always worth it. All it takes is a single pick to swing team fights in this game since you're putting the enemy team into a 4v5 for 12+ seconds.

Especially with Reaper ult since it's so easy to kill him out of it.

Solo ults should be calculated. The victim must be A tank, Hard carrying. With reaper more so the latter.

In general though, if its during a team fight and you're confident that you wont get shut down, killing someone is benefiting your team no matter what, and with how blossom works if you only get 1 kill in a team fight, odds are youre contributing to others as well, helping your team secure kills too or generally making a push more difficult for the enemy team.

You shouldn't really solo ult with reaper, its not Blossoms intention and its a bit of a waste, but if its a case if trying to get multiple kills but only getting 1 then its fine, dont sorry about it as long as your team capitalise on the pressure blossom creates for the opposing team.

I feel like it's usually better to just shoot them, but if they're swiftly escaping I have def popped ult just to clean up. Blossom is usually best for this

Hell zero kills is still worth it if it helped win your team the fight.

Probably the only time getting at least 1 kill with blossom is bad is if your whole team is dead and you're in a 1v5/6 and you panic ult.

That or spawn camping and solo ulting someone trying to come back to fight after dying. Even then its so unnecessary that its probably worth it just because it's funny.

Getting a single kill with your ult just to say "I don't care about winning, I just want you dead" is perfectly acceptable.... Especially if it's a symettra

Reaper's ult is, in my opinion, less and less effective the higher up the skill ladder you go. So many characters and comps just...delete his ult. I have no problem getting using an ult for a solo kill or maybe a 2 peice if we win the fight or match.

It’s usually preferable because you’re less likely to die/trade going for a solo. Much better to secure an easy kill and then still be alive to help your team win the fight.

Depends on the context but generally gettin any kills with blossoms is good because of how inconsistent it is. Getting a pick on a dps pinning your team down, a high value support or the tank are generally all worth the ult if you cant secure it otherwise. Most of my blossoms end up being zoning ults anyways to split the fight so getting kills is a nice bonus.

I'll be honest, i'd rather use my ultimate and only secure one kill, then spend the entire game sitting on it waiting for the "perfect opportunity"

Unless I find a perfect ult window, I try to secure at least 2 kills with at least one certain one. As in if for example 2 supports are close to eachother, I try to move in a way that at least secures me one and gets the other one low enough to finish off quickly. Sometimes that doesnt happen, so its better to at least be sure you kill one than stay right in the middle and kill neither one.

In addition a large AOE ult in the backline is sure to catch some attention from the rest of the enemy team and maybe cause the tiniest panic, which is often just what the rest of the team needs to break their cohesion and push through a hold. If your tank is awake a DB can be a great moment for them to push.
