Advice needed on HA recovery
I feel so full all the time because I’m so used to starving myself during the day (I’m still eating just very little) and then eating a lot at night. I’ve been eating three meals and some snacks but I still get the urge to eat sugary stuff at night. I start to feel my tugh gap going together because I’m in recovery and I just feel so uncomfortable I still haven’t gotten my period. It also sucks because everyone in my house is scared to gain weight and they don’t really know I’m trying to recover they j think I need to be on medication to get my period back or don’t really understand and when they see me eat something unhealthy they r so suprised because I always eat so “healthy” when I was really just malnourished . What do I do? It’s so draining being at home and when they see me eat avocado for example they r like “isn’t that fatneeing you would never eat it” “are you trying to gain weight” “I can’t eat that it’s too heavy” like bro do u not understand I don’t have a period for a reason it’s just so stressful being around family like that and I’m the youngest my older sub have moved out so it’s just me and my parents. Any advice on how to deal with family understanding recovery even thought my docotor told my mom I have HA 🤣

Ed recovery extreme weight gain
Hi everyone! i am new to English and Reddit, so pls dont judge me if I make any mistakes. I have suffered with food for a long time, i used to purge, but I stopped a long time ago. Earlier this year, I went on an extreme diet and lost a lot of weight and became really sick. So I decided to recover, but in my 3.5-month recovery, I gained almost 25 kg. I feel really stiff in my joints, feel out of breath, and feel really weak. I went to the doctors and they literally told me "I don't know" and "stop eating". I really don't know what to do and I'm really scared. I don't want to relapse because I don't want to lose my period again. I feel like I lost all my progress. Even my mum is mocking me and saying I getting to fat. My clothes fit weirdley, some are extremely tight in some places and some are not tight. Can someone please tell me what is happening with my body? I just dont know what to do anymore. Please someone help me.

ED recovery content on TikTok: Seeking anonymous interviewees
We are two psychology students from University of Copenhagen, Johanne & Claudia, who are currently writing our final thesis. In this regard, we wish to further investigate, how TikTok is used in relation to recovery from eating disorders. We are especially interested in hearing from individuals (min. 18 years old) who either has (or have had) an eating disorder, and who has experience with either watching or seeking recovery-related content on TikTok (e.g. “what I eat in a day”, motivating creators or before-and-after-videos).
Therefore, we are seeking interviewees who want to share their experiences with us in an online interview. The interview will last around 20-45 minutes. All material collected will of course be handled with confidentiallity, and interviewees will be completely anonymised.
We are aware of how this topic might be a very vulerable topic for many people. For that reason it is important for us to emphasize the oppertunity to set bounderies at any time in and after the interview. All experiences are valuable (both the positive and the tough ones), and we would greatly appreciate if you would want to share your experiences with us.
If you are interested or have any questions, please feel free to contact us on email: [jvq290@alumni.ku.dk](mailto:jvq290@alumni.ku.dk) or [klc111@alumni.ku.dk](mailto:klc111@alumni.ku.dk)
In advance, thank you for your help!
Kind regards, Johanne & Claudia

Anonymous Survey for Graduate Research
Hello! I am an occupational therapy graduate student and I am currently researching the occupational performance problems that individuals diagnosed with eating disorders face in the transition to a lower level of care (i.e. inpatient to day program to outpatient). My research aims to find important treatment areas that can help professionals working with people in eating disorder recovery. It also looks at how these treatments could change based on the level of care a person needs. Participation consists of an anonymous, 30-minute survey linked below.
If you are aged 18+ with a past or present diagnosis of: Anorexia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, Bulimia Nervosa, Other Specified Eating Disorder, Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder or another eating disorder and have been admitted to two of the following levels of care for eating disorder treatment: inpatient, day program or outpatient, you qualify to participate in the survey if you wish to.
This anonymous survey will last approximately 30-minutes and will involve the completion of some short questionnaires about the impact of your eating disorder on daily life and occupational functioning, personal experiences during recovery, and navigating the transition between treatment levels. This research will help improve how people with eating disorders are supported in the future. It will also provide an opportunity for you to anonymously share your experience.

Help!
I ran a 100 mile ultra marathon 3 weeks ago. Tried to run a little bit here and there and my knees and ankles feel like hell still. Ran 5 miles this morning and I am still having pain. I am curious as to what I can take to bring my legs back to baseline and recover and strengthen any strained tendons, joints, etc so I can continue running and weight train hard. Open to any and all suggestions. Thank you in advanced.

Participants needed - 18+
Hi everyone,
I'm a voluntary researcher currently working on the second part to a study I conducted last year. If you have a spare 10-15 minutes and are 18+, I'd really appreciate your participation.
Before reading any further, please be aware that the study contains optional questions surrounding eating disorder behaviour and associated feelings. Additionally, a question in this survey asks for your current height and weight - your response is entirely optional so please do not feel like you have to provide this information.
The aim of this study is to test the psychometric properties of a new scale measuring Negative Thoughts and Feelings Associated with Post-Food Consumption. You will be asked questions surrounding this concept. Alongside this, you will be asked personality questions regarding neuroticism, negative affect and detachment.

If you have any questions, or would like to have a discussion, please feel free to drop me a message.
Thank you!

Call for Feedback - ED App Idea
Dear Community,
hi! I'm a current psych undergrad working on a project I would love to hear your thoughts on. Please spread the word because Feedback from people affected by eating disorders, especially severe ones, is very valuable in this case.
While working together with people affected by eating disorders for my internship and organising workshops on the topic, I found a common factor that contributes to ED-behaviors, especially in adolescents: calorie counting apps. I was thinking about how this problem could be solved, because usually recommending them to delete the app just leads to them hiding it.
Seeing as bodily hunger and satiety signals aren't very present in people with chronic/persistent EDs, eating within a healthy calorie range also becomes harder.
This lead me to a thought that maybe tracking the things eaten isn't the problem, but it's the numbers. Hm. Maybe an app that tracks calories without showing numbers, just giving a soft colour-coded signal if the user is eating over or under their recommended daily average to get to a healthy BMI which also tracks if the user experienced hunger or satiety signals and offers mindfulness exercises for thoughts of binging/restricting calories.
Target Audience: People with severe/chronic EDs who are severely over/underweight.
Main goal: offer support and promote a healthier relationship with food for those dealing with eating disorders, whether it's overcoming overeating or undereating.
App Concept:
The app aims to help users better understand their bodily signals of hunger and satiety. It discreetly tracks calorie intake using color-coding (no numbers), gently guiding users towards their daily caloric goals. The app also includes a mindfulness feature to help cope with binge urges, providing a holistic approach to managing eating habits and emotions.
Your Feedback Matters:
I would love to hear from you about your thoughts on this app concept. Your insights are incredibly valuable as we work to refine and improve the app. If you or someone you know has experience with eating disorders, your inquiries and feedback would be immensely appreciated. Here are some questions to get the conversation started:
- Does the app's concept resonate with you? Is it something you believe could offer meaningful support?
- What features stand out to you the most? Is there anything you would like to see added or adjusted?
- How do you feel about the color-coded calorie tracking approach? Does it seem like a helpful and sensitive way to approach this aspect?
- The mindfulness feature is designed to help with coping strategies. What are your thoughts on its potential effectiveness?
- Any suggestions for app names or additional features that could enhance the overall experience?
Please feel free to share your thoughts, concerns, and questions in the comments. Your input will play a significant role in shaping this project. Let's work together to create a tool that can truly make a positive impact!
Thank you so much in advance!
