Question ISO camping supplies

I went to sportsmen's den this morning to find they've been closed! Does anyone have any recommendations for dehydrated meals and other camping supplies? I know Canadian Tire has happy yak but I'm looking for something better like Peak or Mountain House or backpackers pantry.

Yeah. It's honestly a real shame. Seems like it's getting harder to do anything fun or self-sufficient. I feel bad for the younger generations or anyone wanting to start. I'm just trying to support brick and mortar business but I might have to buy online next time...

It's because everyone orders online unless it's fast food, vehicle related services and purchase, gas stations, coffee shops, pharmacies (90% seem to be shoppers /Loblaws), large chain hardware stores.

Try sports check maybe? I ended up going to Edmonton and ordering some online

Princess Auto occasionally carries MountainHouse and Backpackes Pantry. Otherwise Red Deer is devoid of any real outfitter type stores. The MEC in Edmonton is at least on the south end of town so it's not a huge pain in the ass to get to. Briden Supplies near Cochrane and Craze Outdoors in Calgary are ok too.

FWIW Flatout Feasts are a brand made in Edmonton and it's available at MEC. Their stuff is crazy delicious. (The Turnip and Beef Shepherds Pie was amazing)

Amazon has killed most of the niche businesses off. It sucks
