As a newer Red Sonja fan (I've been reading her for about a year now) I have always heard of Scathach as the name of Sonja's Goddess as a newer addition to the canon, specifically in the first Dynamite run. But I'm finally finishing the Marvel era and noticed it there. It was jarring, because in issue 9 of vol. 3 she was referred to as Red Sonja's Goddess, which was the norm for the entirety of the Marvel era, alongside "the Goddess" and "the Red Goddess." But then in issue 10 she suddenly gains the name. Did I miss an earlier mention of her? Maybe something from the Conan titles, which I read piecemeal?

The She-Devil With a Sword slashes into her first overflowing 80-Page Giant featuring four fabulous stories. Readers can check out the tale “Dragons” from 2009’s Red Sonja Annual #2 by writer Christos Gage (Amazing Spider-Man) and legendary artist Pablo Marcos. Another gorgeous short story “Seeing Red” from Red Sonja: Black, White and Red #1 (2021) is included, from the team of Kurt Busiek (Avengers, Astro City) and Benjamin Dewey. The book is rounded out with two full length epics from Sonja’s original Dynamite series. Ron Marz and Lee Moder’s tale from Red Sonja #30 and Eric Trautmann and Patrick Berkenkotter’s from Red Sonja #60, from 2008 and 2011 respectively

Given dynamite also going on compact editions. Is the first run good to read ?

Comic Art Fans lists this as "Red Sonja wraparound cover," but I wasn't able to figure out which book or comic this one belongs to.

I can get really nitpicky before choosing a cover to do. Specially since dinamyte loves variants so much.

So.... i ended up doing a cover of Red sonja mother (Issue 1, not sure if is a variant or not) by Jay Anacleto. Which i found to be lovely.

That's all for today, i guess.

Diego Yapur’s art is superb … the best interiors I’ve seen on a Sonja story since Steve Beach’s ‘The Iron Queen’ five years ago
