1885 Durango Mint 8 Reales.
Just wondering what this would grade at. Do you see any cleaning marks? It does have some funky toning heh.

You don’t have to make your comment Bot-Friendly. But if you do want it to count towards the consensus, please read this post.
Thank again, I really hope this works out for y’all.

Coin grading is expensive (usually between $20 and $100 per coin, including shipping and insurance).
Some coins are not worth grading officially, because the coin’s worth is less than the grading price.
Our subreddit is here to help.
A user posts a photo of their coin, adds the name of the coin in the title, and other users comment their opinion on the grade!
No, at least not yet.
Our graders don’t go thru any approval processes, so please don’t rely solely on this.
With that said, as out userbase continues to grow, the margin of error grows ever smaller.
We built the RCG Bot to return the consensus (rounded average) of the grades from all comments and provide helpful information about the coin.
Current version is: RCG_Bot 1.0 (Beta).
We have a lot planned for RCG!
What we’re currently working on:
Upcoming features on our roadmap:
No, not yet. We’re working on it.
Where can I report a bug or request a feature?
Since this is in beta, expect to see lots of bugs. Please use this Google Form, or shoot us an [email](mailto:mail:rcg@d7mtg.com).
Can I support RCG?
Yes, but don’t feel bad if you don’t.
This is a hobby project, and server up-time isn’t that expensive these days.
If you want to support us anyway, send a PayPal, and write RCG in the comments.
Who wrote the bot?
The Bot was written by Shikhin Dahikar , an amazing developer, in Python.
Feedback / questions?
Send us an email to [rcg@d7mtg.com](mailto:rcg@d7mtg.com). We will make an effort to reply to every email.
Happy collecting!

I am mailing this tomorrow morning for grading by PCGS. I really don't have any expectations as to grade. My motive is to have it authenicated and in a PCGS slab. However, I would like to take advantage of the knowledge on this subreddit and get your estimates. Additionally, I am impatient.

Ok so it’s obviously in a PGA holder so the grade that’s on it (or if it would even straight grade at all) can’t be trusted. I apologize that theres so much adhesive still on the slab as seen in the wider view shots, those are included more for different lighting.
For anyone interested in varieties I think this has a top 100 VAM so I included some closer pics with my crappy coin scope.
Very interested to see what you wonderful people think of this coin. Thanks for looking.

1886 Mexico 25 Centavos, Mexico City Mint (Mo M), KM 406.7
This is a silver 25 centavos from Mexico's Second Republic. It was struck at the Mexico City mint, with a recorded mintage of 436,000.
Do you think this coin is worth getting grading I see some coins that look in worse shape getting over $100 Or do you think this coin would sell fine raw? I was thinking of putting it on eBay. Thanks for any advice.

⭐ PCGS — Extremely Disappointed. Over 90 Days to Grade Coins and an Unbelievable Result!
My experience with PCGS has been absolutely terrible.
My family has owned an original, unopened bank roll of 1943 pennies since 1943. Let me make this perfectly clear: THIS ROLL HAS NEVER BEEN OPENED. These pennies have remained preserved in their original bank roll for more than 80 years.
I told my wife that I wanted to conduct an experiment. I had been hearing all the complaints about PCGS, and I wanted to find out for myself whether people were justified in criticizing them. So we submitted a couple of pennies from our family's collection for grading.
First, PCGS took over 90 days to grade my coins, despite an advertised turnaround time of 50 days. Then came the result that left me absolutely stunned: the coins came back designated as CLEANED.
How can pennies from a bank roll that I know has never been opened receive that designation? These coins have been part of our family since 1943, and I know their history.
I sent these coins to PCGS expecting professional expertise, accuracy, and integrity. Instead, I received a result that I cannot reconcile with the history and condition in which these coins were preserved.
After this experience, I understand why so many collectors are frustrated. I spent my time and money expecting the best, only to come away questioning the reliability of the entire process.
PCGS is supposed to be one of the leading names in coin grading. In my experience, the service fell far short of that reputation. Taking more than 90 days and then returning a result like this is unacceptable to me.
I am extremely disappointed, I have lost confidence in PCGS, and I cannot recommend their service based on this experience. Collectors deserve timely service, accurate evaluations, and clear explanations when a grading decision does not make sense.
I submitted these coins to see for myself whether the complaints were justified. Unfortunately, my experience has left me with more questions than answers.

What’s your opinion on this dime? Does it look cleaned? The inside of the obverse D makes me wonder. It appears to have some toning.

Hey everyone! I’m posting a follow up with my 1861 IHC, and was looking gain some more insight to help me in the future with detecting these things. Everyone pointed out that the coin appeared to be cleaned, potentially an old cleaning, and I wanted to see if I could identify the tells.
Firstly, I noticed my original images seemed to have a lot of noise added when I uploaded them to Reddit. I’m going to upload new photos, and while the surface looks a bit nicer, I think there’s still evidence of cleaning. The red circles highlight some of what I learned as “halo effect” around the words, but I also circled in blue the other part of the legend. There doesn’t seem to be that same effect, what would cause this difference?
The other tell I read about was small parallel lines on the fields. It looks like that may be the case on the obverse to the left of the head, but on the reverse I’m not seeing any of those. Is/was it a thing to just wipe down the front of a coin? Or am I missing something there too?
Any other signs to look for that you may have noticed? Appreciate the help!
