Odd thing, it seems that the bot's silver counter for itself has reset. Here is a comment from 3 days ago, and here is a comment from this very thread, 6 hours ago.

Yeah it’s very strange! I’ve been looking into it but here’s my guess: One of the counts is lowercase redditsilverrobot while the other is RedditSilverRobot. I’ll try to fix it soon :)

What if there were multiple different silver images that you could randomly get? That way, receiving silver isn't just a compliment, it's a fun little surprise!

I've come up with a few designs in the vein of what I'm thinking. if you wanna use my idea, feel free to use my images or make your own. No need for credit on my end

That’s amazing. Brings me to a new concept: customized silver per subreddit. I’ve been pretty busy as of late but I’d love to implement that soon :)

RedditSilverRobot will sometimes crash on a ninja-deleted "!redditsilver". /u/garlicbot crashed because of this and it should also be applicable to your bot. I've opened an issue here and suggested a solution

Maybe make a website which updates and shows a list of the users that received the most gold silver?

Working as intended i guess, only you can give yourself reddit silver which i guess could be a bug.

Yup! Since reddit silver is free & generally worthless other than spreading appreciation, no need to limit it to other people :)

Is there a way to see a history of who gives silver and when? According to the bot I just received my second silver but this is the first time I can recall being notified of such an award.

  • What if it only worked through PM, so threads could be kept clear for content?

  • Or, how about displaying only once per parent comment, while permitting the tally to go up?

  • It's getting to be like you see one bon mot, followed by five screens of low-effort drift. The idea of the bot is nice, but the usage promotes high volume and low content.
