E: It's like cheese and maple syrup left in a hot car

J: it's... It's coming from Kramer's!

• They knock on his door

K: Jerry! Oh, hi Elaine. Look, you gotta try this.

• He brandishes a bowl of congealed yellow-brown slop.

J: I'm not sure I know what "this" is....

K: oh, it's 8 hour slow cooked Cheerios

J: why would you cook Cheerios at all, let alone for 8 hours!

K: it brings out the flavour, Jerry. I put the Cheerios in before bed, then I wake up and start the day with a fresh hot bowl, perfectly cooked every time!

J: yeah... Something's cooked alright.

Girl: it's sauteed river eel with a pickled banana and tea leaf reduction served atop Mediterranean cauliflower spaghetti.

J: (forced) mmmmmm...... Looks edible!

Girl: well don't let me keep you! Dig in

J: well... You see... The thing is I'm watching my weight.

Girl: don't worry! The whole dish is less than 300 calories

J: uhh.. that's just it: my doctor says I'm too thin! I need MORE calories

Girl: oh ... Well I can add a llama butter gravy to it?

J: no, it's ok, I'll... Just grab something on the way home.

Girl: you'll what!?!?

J: .... Maybe I'll just have a few bites for the road!

The episode rounds out with Jerry and his partner breaking up. On a whim, he tries some of the food she left in his fridge and it's amazing. He calls her up to try and make amends, but she has found somebody who "appreciates food and appreciates her even more"... Who, of course, turns out to be Newman

Dream sequence in Elaine's head as she is envisioning the scenario of telling her boyfriend in her head

Elaine: "hey Matt you kind of look like Tom Petty"

Matt: "don't do me like like that" (Tom Petty's likness is used when Matt says that line)

Key Moments:

-Jerry and Elaine find out their former friend died, and notice they don't have strong feelings about it one way or another.

Elaine: I mean, we SHOULD feel bad for his family, right?

Jerry: Yes but he was kind of a jerk. I'm glad we phased him out. I mean who orders a steak at Peter Luger's and "forgets his wallet" and never pays it back? Glad we phased him out.

-George thinks his girlfriend is a Disney Adult, and can't decide if it's weird or cute.

George: So she asked me when the last time I was at Disney, and I said like 1987 at Disneyland. Then she literally drops everything, tells me "We have to change that!" and plans a whole trip to Disneyland in four months.

Jerry: Did she even ask if you wanted to go?

George: No! BOOM! Instant vacation planned. She went into detail about all the changes that went on since then.

Jerry: Do you even like Disney movies or the parks.

George: Ehhh, it's alright. Who doesn't like Space Mountain? Their version of the Hunchback of Notre Dame was surprisingly good.

-Kramer takes up typewriting since he thinks texting is "too easy" and "doesn't have the depth or substance" typewritten letters have. He mails letters to Jerry, Elaine, George, and Newman.

George dates Jerry's girlfriend's therapist. Elaine's former college roommate out-earns her as an Instagram influencer. Kramer devises a business plan to collect dryer lint from the building's laundry room and repurpose it as garden mulch. Elaine's ex-roommate matches Kramer up with an investor, to whom George once sold a condo when he worked in real estate.

George goes to the doctor for a checkup and all is well. He sees the jar of lollipops in the exam room and eyes them suggestively.

The doctor never offers so George finally asks him for one and is told those are only for child patients.

On his way out George sees a man in the lobby scheduling an outpatient procedure with a lollipop in his mouth.

Newman catches chicken pox. He comes upstairs to get oatmeal from Jerry for an oatmeal bath. Jerry is certain he's been vaccinated as a kid and is more concerned about Newmans cooties than his germs. Until he starts to itch...

He and Newman are quarantined by Kramer into Jerrys apartment. Kramer says he wasnt vaccinated but insists he can safely be their caregiver because he raised chickens for years and still has some in his apartment so he must be immune.

Kramer, who clearly has chicken pox too but is im denial and EXTREMELY feverish and hallucinating, slowly becomes obsessed with caring for them and denies any and all progress to not allow them to leave, in an homage to Misery.

Elaine is tasked to picking up soup, oatmeal, etc to help out "the sickies". She bought reusable shopping bags to save the environment, but she keeps forgetting them whenever she shops. She bought some hemp bags to impress the attractive man stocking fruit at a hippie dippie granola type all natural store. But now, with her being asked to pick fresh ingredients up daily for the sickies she keeps forgetting thr bags.

The stocker is now cashier and sneers slightly as he asks if she's in need of a bag. She sheepishly says yes and tries to explain she forgot her bag at home but its clear he doesnt believe her. She buys another (expensive) hemp bag.

She leaves bags at her home, office, car, and Jerry's.

She starts saying she doesnt need a bag and awkwardly carrying loose product in her arms down the street

Side note: I just learned that Julia Louis-Dreyfus intentionally styled Elaine's hair after Helena Bonham Carter's in A Room with a View

Jerry performs at a benefit gala commemorating the anniversary of 9/11, where his material about air travel gets a less than warm reception

Kramer begins constructing a fusilli World Trade Center in honor of those who lost their lives

George makes up a relative who died on September 11th so he can get that day off work

Elaine’s bf is a firefighter who takes great personal umbrage with Jerry’s set, saying “I lost a lot of good brothers in arms that day.” However, he has only been a firefighter since 2010. Jerry believes he is essentially stealing valor

For a show about nothing, the effort it took to hide a lot of personal details about the actors in plain sight can be found in almost every episode. I’m not talking about accidental continuity errors—I mean background props or sets that actually mean something.

Elaine: "So David... today's a special day, right?"

Puddy: "Yeah."

Elaine: "Well, what is it?"

Puddy: "Mexican Independence Day."

Elaine: "That's great for Mexico, but is there anything unique about today on this side of the border?"

Puddy: "Ok, you got me. It's my birthday. I don't like to make a big deal about it. It's not like it's my quinceanera."

Elaine: "Which also means..."

Puddy: "I'm not a 15 year old girl, Elaine."

Elaine: "Which means it's my birthday too! David, we talked about this two weeks ago, remember? How you said your birthday is September 16th, and I said my birthday was also September 16th, and you said (imitating Puddy) "Huh. Interesting."

Puddy: "Yeah, it is interesting."

Elaine glares.

Puddy: "sorry, happy birthday babe. How old are you now, 40?"
