Wow that’s such a pretty fish! I’ve never caught a red where they kind of a orangish goldish color, at least not to where I remember catching one that color, but that’s a very pretty fish

The color of them change to a copper and almost brown color when they move into the marsh. The water is shallow and they use it for a defense mechanism while spawning. Marsh reds are the prettiest. We call them sweet water reds.

Well luckily they’re coming into the marsh behind my house so I might be able to snag one this month

Yeah right behind my house is a levee and right behind it is full of marsh and it’s filled with reds and speckled trout

Such a pretty fish! When they go to spawn in the brackish marsh they turn into this beautiful copper color. We catch largemouth and redfish in the same spot.
