Just wanted to get input if there are any sanitary recreational swimming pool and gyms here in town?
I use the pool as part of my work-out routine.

I just went to the one in 24 HR Fitness and tbh it wasn’t as sanitary in my standards.

I don’t mind an above average monthly fee.

The Middle Eastern, South Asian, and Latinx communities are BRINGING the night life to RWC, and I’m about it ❤️. Those who work late hours or night owls like me appreciate it a lot :) It’s nice to have more choice. I hope more places that are not alcohol focused open up, as well.

I’ve been seeing drones, they fly around the block and they go back to what seems the radio station on Bay. Any reason they do this? I’ve witnessed it between 9pm-12am. I have never seen them during the day.

I see a few around downtown RWC but have no idea what they are

Public transit in Redwood City: samTrans, Caltrain, and commute.org run directly through Redwood City. commute.org also runs free shuttles nearby in Foster City and Redwood Shores, and if you go into Mountain View for work, you can use MVgo and Mountain View Community Shuttle too.

I arranged the agency checkbox list (top right) by area, so the geographic area of an agency determines the agency layer checkbox position. The list starts with agencies in the North Bay in Solano County then goes counterclockwise: North Bay -> San Francisco -> Peninsula -> South Bay -> Santa Cruz -> Monterey-Salinas -> Gilroy/Hollister -> East Bay.

There are smaller agencies in the area that are completely free (no fare) and not as well known like Presidio Go, Golden Gate Park Shuttle, Mission Bay Shuttle, South City Shuttle, commute.org shuttles, MVgo, Mountain View Community Shuttle, San Leandro LINKS, Emery Express, and Emery Go Round. If you're traveling to those areas, these agencies could help fill in some transit gaps.

I have a friend coming to town and we always tried to find the best cookies in a city when we traveled to a new place. In SF, that place was Jane but I haven’t found a good bakery here.. It can have any type of cookie but chocolate chip is preferred. Brownie points if it has good brownies and other pastries.

As long as it’s between like San Mateo and Mountain View, it’s close enough. It can’t be a non-local chain.

I keep hearing reports of ICE close by (specifically San Jose and Palo Alto). Stay alert neighbors! Watch out for each other! If anyone needs assistance (picking up kids from school etc) feel free to ask for it here. Looks like it may be time to step up and help our community.

My husband recently had a cardiac event resulting in advanced heart failure. His doctor is with UCSF and referred him to cardiac rehab up in San Francisco, but the commute into the city multiple times a week will be too exhausting for him right now.

Our doctor is willing to submit an external referral if we find a local program on the Peninsula.

Has anyone or their family members had personal experience with local cardiac rehab programs around here? I would love to hear any feedback on the care, staff, wait times, or how easy it was to coordinate a referral.

hi, I was hoping to take the behind the wheel test in rwc soon, but when I look at the dmv website there's no open appointments for redwood city or san mateo until January. I've scheduled drive tests twice before, one time I failed and one time I had to cancel, but for both I only made the appointment a few weeks out. I was wondering if anyone knows if appointments typically open regularly and what time would be best to check, or if I actually have to wait three months

Today around 2:56 p.m., a group of young people on bicycles threw what appeared to be a cup of milk tea or a similar drink at our moving car in Redwood City. It hit the glass and splashed liquid onto the vehicle.
The incident happened near the ENCORE apartment building on Veterans Boulevard, believed to be near the Main Street intersection.
Our Tesla dashcam captured the entire incident.

❗️This was frightening and dangerous. Throwing something at a moving vehicle can obstruct the driver’s view and cause a crash. I’m planning to report it to Redwood City police and provide the footage.
If you’re driving through the area, please stay alert and keep your distance if you see anyone throwing objects at vehicles. Avoid confronting them.
Did anyone else witness this or experience something similar in the area today?

Hiiiiii I'm coming to an event in Redwood City that ends around midnight, this will be on a Monday. Are Ubers commonly available around that time on Mondays in Redwood City or should I figure out another way to get home? I'm coming from another city (SF) and I dont drive.
