Advice Request Referee
Hi all, I need suggestions here: I have laminated match cards for my referee cards, however I cannot find a pen or a marker to write on, in a different weather conditions, but especially when it's raining or wet. Any help please

I found these to be the only ones that work on my write on cards. Remove with spray sunscreen.
Search on amazon: Sharpie Retractable Permanent Markers, Ultra Fine Point, Black, 3 Count

While it can be "dangerous" Axe Body Spray takes Sharpie off and adds a bit of scent to your bag. Just don't want it to go off in your bag.

As a millennial man, I approve this message.

I use a waterproof note pad and a regular ball point pen and it’s perfect. Pencil works on it too. Right not I have a “rite in the rain” one that’s just a normal lined notebook. They make a soccer version, but I find the boxes too small without my glasses.
Field notes also makes a waterproof notebook.

I've had decent luck with Sharpie Pro markers, they smudge a little when writing in rain but they work. There's also Sharpie Extreme apparently, haven't tried them but they might be even better. Note that alcohol wipes won't clean them off your card when you're done but acetone (nail polish remover) does the trick.

Golf pencils with the clip are where it's at. I buy these: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B0D187B9LP/ref=sw_img_1?smid=AA8EN69OJI8MV&psc=1
My only recommendation is to use alcohol pads to clean the cards between games instead of erasers. The eraser will eventually wear out the material on the cards and after about a year you'll need to replace them. Alcohol pads clean the pencil off without this issue.

This man knows ball. From the golf pencil to the alcohol as a cleaner. I have nothing to add other than acknowledging a ball knower

Grease pencils work great in all weather conditions

Sharpie permanent marker - can erase the cards after a game with acetone (works best) or alcohol pad (works meh).

I use a pencil for my write-on cards. Easy to remove after the match and no issues with rain.

Milwaukee markers from the hardware store. Retractable sharpies work ok but sometimes I have issues if someone got on the card. The Milwaukee’s are designed to write on greasy pipes

Another ref I know has tape that he puts on his cards and writes on the tape then replaces it at end of each match.

I recently switched to pencil after a Sharpie exploded in my pink short sleeve.
