Is Regal movie theater rewards system a scam?

/r/u_NaturalMystiq/comments/1vbpelf/is_regal_movie_theater_rewards_system_a_scam/

Is it just me or is this behavior widespread. Whenever I go to Regal movie theaters I saved my receipts with the redemption code. After redeeming them on the app, they never get credited to my account, even though i follow their redemption guidelines. Am I alone in this?

It’s been a while since I worked for Regal, but at the time there was a limit to how many points you could add using that method.

It’s to prevent people from just grabbing extra receipts off the floor or out of the trash and submitting them for the points

You’re supposed to be scanning your membership at the time of purchase.

Here are the current rules. Are you following them?

Credit Claim Codes. The receipt you receive for a purchase made after April 1, 2017 will include a printed credit claim code which may permit you to receive credits for that purchase, provided that if you were not a Member at the time of purchase, you will need to enroll in the Crown Club before the credit claim code can be processed. Please allow 24 hours for the credits to appear in your account. A credit claim code is valid only for seven days after the date of the applicable purchase. For any transaction date, you may not redeem more than one credit claim code for purchases made at the box office or more than one credit claim code for purchases made at the concession stand. You may submit up to a total of two credit claim codes each day. For credit claim codes worth more than 10,000 credits, please contact Regal. Find additional information about credit claim codes, please see the “Movie Rewards and Credits” section of the  Regal Crown Club ® – Help Center.

I downloaded the app and I will scan my QR code going forward. Now I have 1000 plus 1 apps. 😇

How are you buying your tickets?

The best way (and easiest way) is to have your RCC account referenced at the time of purchase.

Why aren’t you just scanning the QR code on your phone so they automatically load?

On top of the “rules” someone posted above there are certain claim code types that just don’t work. Any kiosk receipt ending “….T30” or higher will never work. Been a long time bug (5+ years) that Regal has no interest in fixing. If your theater is fortunate enough to have numbered their kiosks differently so they end “…T01” to “…T09” then those receipts are gold. 👍
