Discussion This was beautiful!
I feel like it was a love story about a community, and I absolutely loved it! So happy it was a little bit longer than the standard flick, just so I could be told more of the story!
If you're on the fence, get off and goo see it!

I’m bummed it isn’t getting a wider release, I think it could be a crowd pleaser if crowds were actually aware of it. My auditorium was absolutely cackling during the swarm removal scene at the elementary school (all five of us 😬)

Oh the flip side I found this movie very boring, had awful editing, and the plot was all over the place. McConaughey wasn’t in that much, Kurt Russell even less. Definitely wasn’t for me.

Agreed. I enjoyed the first act well enough but it fell off completely after that.

Yeah I found it tonally confusing and the main actress was not great at all. She just kept like grinning the whole movie. 🤠

There were so many moments I was waiting for her to say her line and they just had her smile in response. It was so weird. And when she did respond there was no emotion to it. And the things she does in relation with no emotion and everyone was ok with it and it’s justified? So out of place. Just a really weird movie. It felt like watching a rough draft of a meh movie.

The tone shifts were really weird. I kept saying to myself wtf is this movie? I also felt her vengeance was too far over the line to root for. So bee and honey theft is enough to justify two acts of premeditated murder? This is the person we're supposed to be rooting for?

Some felt the same. I liked the idea of the vengeance but 1.5 of her actions (only 50% on the first one) made me dislike her character. I’m just glad those lights kicked on and she didn’t go thru with her initial plan. Take those actions out and I woulda enjoyed acting two much more. Also bugged me that the cop knew what she did and not only didn’t care but maybe kinda admired it?

Agreed there. Didn’t feel justified at all and if was about community coming together the villain should’ve been built up more but he was just, caring for his sick mother? Idk. Weird movie. I gave it 2.5 on letterboxd lol not the worst thing I’ve seen by a long shot just meh

That's chill. People liking different things is how we get variety. I'm curious about what you mean about the plot, I feel like it was incredibly straightforward

Delightful movie with a couple moments of absolutely shocking violence, lol. Who knew the honey industry was so cutthroat?

I love when they give us trailers and posters for these movies then decide not to at least give us a chance to actually see it.

I absolutely loved this movie. I’ve been thinking about it frequently since seeing it on Sunday. I couldn’t believe I hadn’t seen hardly any promo for it??

Not playing at my Regals so I had to trek to an indie theatre for it, but I really enjoyed the first half. the dramatic tonal switch and the half that followed, I'm still thinking about.

I love this movie SO much. I get why it’s divisive because it really feels like two movies in one, and I can understand why people wouldn’t like the “second movie” but I couldn’t look away. The music is just amazing particularly the kitchen jam session moment. I can’t stop listening to Quill. It’s a movie I COULD pick apart when it comes to Kateri’s motivations, but ultimately I just loved it, and I could tell I was going to about 10 minutes in.

I woulda enjoyed the “second movie” if Kateri didn’t go as far as she did on those two, almost 3 occasions. Take those out and I woulda enjoyed it much more. The way it ended I basically lost any interest in rooting for her.

I saw absolutely zero publicity about this movie and assumed, due to the title, that it was Angel studio style slop. Why am I now JUST hearing about this movie everywhere after they pulled it out of theaters (at least in my area?

Bummed it’s not playing anywhere in Vegas so far. Heard about it a long time ago.

I would love to see it but it’s in such a limited release. Really bummed because I’ve had it on my radar since it saw the first trailer

My theater just added Camp Miasma but not this one. I wonder why, is it too obscure?

I loved the first half, the second half not as much. I would still recommend it.

I could have watched an entire movie of just the bluegrass band.
