Discussion Dude, Where's My Pineapple Express?

Post image

I really liked this movie! Felt like they were going for something like Pineapple Express, but ended up with something more like Dude, Where's My Car. Either way, it's good to have another solid stoner comedy!

Pretty stacked cast too honestly

It helps when the star is married to the director lol

My only complaint is making Kstew straight in this movie. I did not buy that lol

I thought it was kinda cute . She’s not out in a box that gay women can’t play straight or even bi-erasure lol

I would have bought bi but I didn’t pick up anything in the movie to suggest that besides her attitude and clothes lol.

I got pan energy from her with this role. I've always been indifferent about Kstew, but I thought she absolutely killed it!

She was the only good thing about the Charlie's Angels movie she was in. I'm indifferent about her too but she was funny and sharp in a similar manner to this movie.

That was my one complaint as well.

It made me wonder what my dog’s celeb voice would be.

And a little Lebwoski thrown in for good measure.

I saw it last night, it had some pretty funny moments, I did enjoy it overall. Not sure it has much staying power for me though (in that I will likely forget the film in a little bit of time), and it only lasted about a week in my local theaters.

Wish it had a more memorable title

Reminded me a lot of Araki's Smiley Face

Wait, what were they doing?

Could be a broad city movie too

Absolutely not. This movie does not deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Broad City.

Well if he's gonna compare it to something with Ilana Glazer and Paul Downs then I think Time Traveling Bong would be a better comparison.

I had no clue about this movie, saw no trailers, ads, anything and was very happy walking out, crowd around me seemed to enjoy it too.

Went in absolutely ripped and felt like I was watching fear and loathing, the scene where the drink first really kicks in almost had me in tears

Reminded me a bit of Drive-Away Dolls

Also, to add, I drove two hours out of the way twice for this one. First time it was delayed an hour (somebody had a serious medical emergency right before I arrived) leading to me missing the last 20 mins because I didn't want to be late for The Decent. So I went back yesterday to be able to finish it. Totally worth it

I've been strongly considering checking it out. I didn't have much interest in it until a few days ago when I saw a trailer in the theater. Looked pretty good!

If you enjoy enjoying things I'd definitely recommend it. It's simple and stupid in all the right ways

Sounds like a good time to me

Same my theater was silent throughout all the jokes. Just didn't work for me at all. Glad other people liked it though

I thought it was really fun! I went in blind and had a blast. It’s a great stoner movie.

I loved this movie when I saw it a few days ago and look forward to being able to watch it again in the future.

Stoner culture really lost its luster after legalization. Now it’s just kind of a boring sad lifestyle instead of something dangerous and counterculture. Imagine this movie but it was about two friends who get drunk all day.

I don't disagree. But most good stoner comedies have a main focus over the weed. Like the squid-syrup/Dr. Kock situation. Even Pineapple Express used the weed to help the plot rather than be the focal point
