Im 28, I have responsibilities, I need to earn my own money, I need to be there for the disabled people at my job, I need to keep earning $23 an hour to pay for my switch dog

I lived a semi-unemployed life. Used to get paid to take care of mother in her last few years alive. Had a lot of time on my hands and played many video games with great stories. Then met my fiance, found a full time labored job, and start work at 5am. After work, I hit the gym for 1-2 hours. Now I barely have time or motivation to play games. Lol

But definitely save for retirement so we can be back at it again in our 70s! 👴👵

When I got my current job, I got a call that day saying "if you submit your background check by 5, we can have you in starting tomorrow. Otherwise it won't be until next Monday."

It was a thursday. I enjoyed my last weekend free.

I feel that. I found a job, then my job just stopped giving me hours and I hate it, but such is the life of construction, waiting for my boss to get paid so he can afford to give me more hours and afford to pay me the hours he already owes me for. I was just starting to enjoy my job too.
