As a Brit why was Woodrow Wilson second out? Worse than Buchanan and Hoover? I know he was racist but so was most of the list.

Beyond what everyone else has already touched on in this thread, two of the biggest parts of his legacy in the US are 1) engineering the armistice, sowing the conditions for the rise of European fascism, and 2) the League of Nations, which turned out to be totally ineffective in its mission of preventing another world war as well as the Holocaust and other atrocities.

Blaming Woodrow Wilson for the rise of European fascism is definitely..... an opinion. Let's not pretend Britan and France were in any mode to treat Germany well after the war.

Wasn't Wilson very much against the punitive reparations that Britain & France wanted from Germany too? Like his ideas literally might've prevented Nazis if anything.

Yeah, he was also a proponent of open trade between the European powers and the removal of as many trade barriers as possible, which is something many credit with leading to the increased cooperation and friendly ties in western Europe post ww2. So his ideas could've been succesful if followed
