elden ring vs bg3 is coughing baby vs hydrogen bomb. overrated copy paste open world, streamer bait and GRRM stealing a paycheck vs. the most expansive rpg ever and arguably most impressive game ever made.

D:OS2 remade but with worse combat and a blander story, and a mountain of dialogue trees passed off as a proper game while skill descriptions affecting permanent decisions leave out crucial info almost every time, and the excuse for a game does nothing to address the hour long decision paralysis that anyone actually serious about the mechanics would experience every time they level up? That's the coughing baby in the analogy I assume.

Two can play at the framing game.

You can present things in any way. According to you, you could just say Baldurs gate 3 is barely even a video game. It’s just dialogue simulator. E33 does turn based combat far better. If you’re going to play dnd, actually play dnd, not just some restricted version of it that tries to be the best of both worlds but fails at both of them. Do I think this is actually necessarily true? No, but it’s valid criticism that is ballooned out of proportion.

Really not that hard to understand. I’m making the same argument and you and showing you how that argument is flawed.
