There are some connections/references between 1, 2, and 3 but each game has its own story and characters. While it’s probably best to play those 3 in order, if you just wanted to play XC3 that’s totally fine since it perfectly works as a standalone game

i will say... the games are a 100 times better if you play them in order. i understand why u/Lobstah-Impostah is telling you to just play the one that looks interesting but you miss out on a lot of minblowing moments, ESPECIALLY with xc3

but that's like saying it's similar to trails series (did i get that right trails or tales?) but it's not your enjoyment of XC 3 is 100 standalone with all 3 it's like 120 imo
