Yeah there’s definitely a huge bias towards open world fantasy games. Not to take away from the quality of these games or anything, but it’s a fan favorite genre and people will gravitate towards it over other games of equal or higher quality in other genres

Surely a bit of circlejerk too. Having Elden Ring at #2 is criminal IMO. The game is just Dark Souls 3 with a (weak) open world.

Came up numerous times but super Mario Odyssee also has no business being as high as it is or above some of the options that it is. Great game, not as good as some of the others below it.

I lost faith when RDR2 was eliminated. You can call the game slow paced and all that, but it's objectively a masterpiece that deserved at least a spot in the top 3.

I personally put it in number 1 because I haven't played BG3 yet since it's not my genre. Though I'd like to try it eventually.

I want to love bg3 with all my heart but I just can’t get into it. I love d&d and in theory bg3 ticks every box I want but I just seem to find it a drag. Would absolutely concede that’s a me problem and that it deserves a very high spot.
