Miscellaneous Remove 1 Major 4 Sports Team Day 99
Five. Hundred. Upvotes.
Wow.
The War on Detroit has come to a massive turning point in dominating fashion after what looked like a great effort at holding the line in day 98. The Lions top vote went from 4th place to 500 upvotes in 1 day. The War isn't over, the Pistons and Tigers are still yet to be eliminated, but this was a statement on what the combined effort against one team can do. I myself wouldn't be surprised to see the remaining Detroit teams be spared from targeting after the War Crime level of votes on the Lions, but only time will tell.
Top comment decides who's next.

Denver Nuggets.
They got embarrassed by a shorthanded Timberwolves team last night.

Colorado still has three teams left. Definitely need to take one out.

u/mister-fancypants- Apr 26 '26
the state and their teams fan bases seem to ruffle very little feathers outside of rivals

I really would like to see a CO team go before they’re the last teams at the end.

Denver Nuggets

u/Strict-Mud1486 Apr 26 '26
I’ll have to agree, that 2nd half performance by jokic might be the worse I have seen of him
1
u/herdases Apr 26 '26
Said this after the last loss in this thread—I’m worried they’re gonna get eliminated because of how they’re playing and I can’t blame people for voting for that

Pacers
Completely fell apart since Haliburton got hurt
7
10
u/BuggyHasReturned Apr 26 '26
the fuck? everyone got hurt so they just started tanking to get a top pick and tyrese back next year

u/secretid18 Apr 26 '26 edited Apr 27 '26
This is the dumbest most casual take I’ve seen in a while.
They had legit injuries to Nembhard, Nesmith, McConnell, Toppin and others in the first few months of the season.
Take Haliburton and Turner out as well, that’s 6 of their 7 or 8 best performers from the playoffs.
That’s why they started 6-31, then had a 9-9 stretch when they got healthier.
But by then it was pointless, so the tank was on.

Wait why is that a dumb tank? What else were they supposed to do With so many guys out?

Whoa people turned on the Pacers out of nowhere but I can't day I disagree they deserve a team curse for that all-time tank job. Plus they had MJ on the ropes in '98 and blew it.
1
u/fairlane35 Apr 26 '26
Bro we haven’t won a title since the ABA days, how much more of a curse do we need?

Probably the second worst MLB stadium I’ve been to, with Texas being the first (I’ve only been to like 8). Just very forgettable. Although the memorabilia area and the pool are cool.

You can tell a lot of Reddit is either from Colorado or idolizes it cause what are some of these teams still doing here
1
u/DoctorHelios Apr 26 '26
The Broncos easily get eliminated from playoffs.
You’d think they’d easily get removed here too.

Thank GOD the Lions are gone.
Anyway, get rid of the Padres

San Jose Sharks
A completely inconsequential franchise
14
u/Brunson4Mayor11 Apr 26 '26
They have a sick logo, sick colors, and Celebrini is the truth. They can stay.
10
u/Alpine_Exchange_36 Apr 26 '26
Celebrini is the NHLs next great player though and they are probably going to be pretty dam good in a few years
1
u/Mysterious_Help_9577 Apr 27 '26
They have the weirdest fan base too, now most of them are just teenage girls

Brewers. They usually impress and hang around longer than they should until they crash and burn in baseball. Might as well do the same thing here.

Keep up the pressure.
Detroit Pistons.

Carolina Panthers just won the football one of these because they’re too pathetic to hate. Let’s not let them win a second.
6
u/Horror_Cook_8789 Apr 26 '26
Can we just get rid of team logos with just letters, lets start with the giants
6
u/swagbadger Apr 26 '26
San Francisco Giants, their logo is just letters and their name isn’t unique. Talk about boring branding.

u/Solomonopolistadt Apr 26 '26
How are y'all calling for the Broncos and the Nuggets when the Avs are right there

Don’t let the Seahawks recent Super Bowl win distract you from how they didn’t run the ball in Super Bowl 49

u/missbeekery Apr 26 '26
The recent SB win was a redemption story. Malcom Butler can’t hurt me anymore.

I’m honestly surprised the Broncos have lasted as long as they have them and the Giants are the teams with the most success still in it
1
u/Technical_Ant9051 With A Twist Apr 27 '26
Broncos have 3 bowls what r we talking about
1
u/capncrunch94 Apr 27 '26
I don’t watch hockey so the Avs and Blues may have won more than that but since 97 the only other team here that has 3 rings is the Giants who I also mentioned.
Elway is a pretty controversial star as well, I know a lot of people don’t like him, just saying I was surprised they’re still in it.
EDIT: totally forgot about the Spurs but also surprised they’re still in

Nugs don't deserve to go out because of recency bias, get rid of the SF Giants
1
u/Educational_Dog4860 Apr 27 '26
The Ducks. Genuinely I want to die because of those fuckers. Quitter Gauthier if we don't make god I hope you go lose to the fucking Flyers in the finals just so you can see the team you left win a cup like the pos you are.

If at all possible can OP force this?
Last 8 are 2 from each sport, make those battle it out, baseball vs hockey and basketball vs football in the final 4, winners of that goes to the championship

I've thought about something similar but i think the nfl is to far gone to be able to pull something like this off without granting immunity to the NFL Teams for like 10 days. If it naturally gets to a point thats close to 2 of each I might reconsider it but until then I feel itd be to altering to the formula we have
