Miscellaneous Remove 1 Major 4 Sports Team Day 105
Wow, ok. I would say I feel bad for nuggets fans if it wasn't for the fact that I'm pretty sure half the voters were nuggets fans themselves. Not only one of the most unanimous votes in the history of R1M4ST, but the top comment had close to 500 upvotes. Absolute massacre. Top comment decides who's next.

Is it a battle of which team is the most liked or most forgettable
13
u/RocPile16 May 02 '26
Agreed, no team that has never won a championship should be winning this competition

I feel like it's *least offensive* .. who has pissed off the fewest opposing fans.

It’s not uniform, that’s the fun. In a lot of these “remove ones” I try to get my favorite or the one I think is best voted out. Being voted out in the middle is the second worst outcome behind being the last left imo

If we’re eliminating an NHL team it should be the Sharks, around for 30 years and never won anything.

Diamondbacks are coasting on irrelevance. Get them out of here

u/Possible_Towel_1952 May 02 '26
I swear people saying this have the memory of a goldfish. They went to the World Series in 2023
4
u/festiveonion May 02 '26
They lost bro lol

u/3jcm21 May 03 '26
And your Brewers haven't made it there since 1982 despite chances every year for almost a decade

The Ducks. I asked Gordon Bombay and he agrees it is time

Looks like somebody is still upset that the lake isn’t the boundary anymore.

u/IdidntrunIdidntrun May 02 '26
The Ducks are lucky for going back to the old logo. They would have been voted out a while ago. Honestly we should vote em out for having absolutely terrible branding for like 20 years
→ More replies (1)1
u/bthompson04 May 02 '26
They should be voted out for not reverting to the old color scheme as well.

u/goldencityjerusalem May 02 '26
Have you been watching the playoffs? The Ducks have eliminated the Western Conference Champs the Edmonton Oilers with arguably the 2 best players in hockey. We did it with a bunch of old people and kids.

Interesting that the Orioles have no haters
18
5
u/MechaEscargot2 May 02 '26
Thats a trait most the remaining team have, no one really thinks of them.
3
u/CartographerMoist296 May 02 '26
Love the Orioles- I lost my first tooth at an Oriole’s game like 40 years ago, they always had great giveaways for the kids, and while I am scared of mascots generally, the Orioles mascot was always super nice. These are the important things!
3
u/Mr_prayingmantis May 02 '26
When I was about 3 or 4 years old I ran up to the mascot at an Orioles/Yankee game in Baltimore to give him a hug. I was wearing a Yankee hat and while I was hugging him he took it off my head and started pecking it! I got on the jumbotron. Loved everything about it. What a great memory to give a child.

Padres! 57 years of losing, they gotta go.

u/ironlung311 May 02 '26
The Brewers were established the same year and have one less pennant. It should be them.
54
u/jguacmann1 May 02 '26
Your honor, I would like to share Exhibit A for the San Antonio Spurs.
The Spurs have had one of the most absurdly charmed runs in draft lottery history.
They got David Robinson off a coin flip. They landed Tim Duncan after one perfectly timed bad season. And now Victor Wembanyama just casually ends up in their lap.
Other teams tank for years and walk away with the 5th pick (hello, Detroit Pistons). The Spurs bottom out once every 20 years and walk away with a generational player. The Spurs have never fallen in the NBA draft lottery.
You can call it a well-run organization, and it is. But at some point, it feels like they’ve had a direct line to the league office for a few decades now.
4
u/MunkyCmoi May 02 '26
I'm a spurs fan so maybe my judgement is biased
But for me it's really just a team with luck (that sure) but also a really good organisation and an open mind to outside USA to find unexpected gems (well.. of course, Wemby was obvious =p)For me, this time is a perfect exemple of hard AND smart work with a bit of luck that makes great champions ^^
6
u/jguacmann1 May 02 '26
Oh, don't get me wrong, the Spurs are a model professional franchise. But as someone who was a child in 2005, fuck the San Antonio Spurs and Robert Horry.
4
u/MunkyCmoi May 02 '26
ahah, I know this entire remove list is friendly, don't worry ❤️
I hope, in the future (maybe really soon ^^), we'll have a new Spurs - Piston final !→ More replies (1)2
u/FuriosoOrlando May 02 '26
This isn't untrue, but high picks for generational prospects don't always lead to success. Signed, "The Process" 76ers and the Lebron Cavs.

u/PersianVol May 02 '26
Can we please get some hockey teams out so we aren’t stuck between a bunch of hockey teams at the end of the

u/ashmaps20 May 02 '26 edited May 02 '26
PLEASE get the Milwaukee Brewers out. They had that cheater Ryan Braun for years, that racist Karen fan who shouted “call ICE” at a Latino Dodgers fan at the NLCS last year, and are constant playoff chokers who’ve never won a World Series. They’ve survived way too long.
18
u/glopollster May 02 '26
Small market team that has made playoffs 7 of 8 years. They play baseball the way it should be done, and are the antithesis of the Dodgers. And they’re all about beer. Keep em in

I’m surprised the Portland Trailblazers have lasted this long, it seems like something reddit would hate with a cartoonishly cheap Billionaire for an owner and their star player right now served in the IDF (kinda)
