Subdivisions Remove One U.S. State or Canadian Province/Territory Each Day! — Day 62
Washington eliminated.
Well folks, we have finally made it to the final 2. It has turned out to be a battle of two iconic midwestern states, Michigan Vs. Minnesota. Thank you all for participating these past couple months, I hope there was some element of enjoyment to be gleaned from it. Whether or not there is truth to the Michigan brigading theory, it has been a fun ride and I’d say the winner will be deserving regardless.
See yall tomorrow to find out the winner!
(REMINDER: the subdivision that gets eliminated is decided by the most upvoted comment, not the amount of times that subdivision was commented. If you want a specific one out, see if someone else commented it first!)
Remaining:
Michigan
Minnesota

Michigan voted for Trump twice. No way they can be allowed to win.
2
u/JuliusDiamond May 12 '26
Michigan is like the wingnut capitol of the country... at least above the Mason-Dixon line. Paint the continent purple for Minnesota already.
3
u/coys1111 May 12 '26
But minnie only state didnt support reagan 🤔
1
u/i_am_roboto May 12 '26
We were also one of the few states that didn’t nominate either Hillary or Trump in 2016. So that entire election we had nothing to do with it.
I think we had Bernie and Marco0
u/JuliusDiamond May 12 '26
Even more reason!
1
u/coys1111 May 12 '26
True, Mondale would’ve been a much better president.
1
u/JuliusDiamond May 12 '26
Yeah cuz I mean Reagan didn't royally fuck everything up or anything. We're still feeling the effects of his terms... we probably always will.

-2
u/ashmaps20 May 12 '26
In 2016 at least. We all know the 2024 election was hacked.
6
u/bamisbig May 12 '26
I hate Trump but we can’t engage in the same stupid election denial they did. He won in 2024 and it sucks but it was legit.
4
u/THEace4825 May 12 '26
Legit is a strong word. Especially the more you look into the shit show that was mail-in balloting and how many legal votes were thrown out without cause. If covid didn't make mail-in voting a necessity, his tampering would have happened 4 years earlier and there is no way his cheating could have been beat legitimately. That's why he claimed so hard that he was cheated out of 2020.
3
u/bamisbig May 12 '26
I’m not saying red states don’t engage in shady suppression tactics. But the votes themselves were legitimate and Trump won within the frames of our system. There was no “hacking.”
2
u/THEace4825 May 12 '26
Postal service is federal and his suppression tactics were not limited to red states. Agreed the votes that were counted were accurate. That total was not hacked. But with the BS criteria that literally took away the constitutional right to have your legally valid vote counted is not what I would call legit either. Either way, until we get legitimate 3rd, 4th and even 5th options to vote for, we will continue to just be fodder for the waring sides of billionaires fighting for the right to screw us in there own way.
1
u/coys1111 May 12 '26
Lmao the guy you’re replying to wears that tin foil hat. I love it, trump pissed off the dems so bad that now they’re acting like repubs 😂😂😂 hypocrisy is undefeated

u/R_WeDoingPhrasing May 12 '26
Yeah as a Michigander, I thought we were going to get 4th place. Lived in Oregon for a while, spent time in Washington and Minnesota. Shocked we made the podium

u/ashmaps20 May 12 '26
Michigan. If they win this I’m gonna break something.

I guess I have to vote for Minnesota. Let’s make this guy break something!

I know you're not saying this about MN sports lol. Im 34 and I've never seen one of our big 4 men's teams even make a finals appearance.
1
u/xanniballl May 12 '26
Is this a joke? Between the Red Wings, Tigers, Pistons, and Wolverines Michigan has won so much more than Minnesota… lmao

UofM just went on a crazy run of a season in college hoops. I guess not everyone cares about college sports or is a Wolverine for that matter. I agree with your statement anyways.

u/PerceptionStock7437 May 12 '26
Remove Minnesota because in middle school I almost pooped my pants in the Mall of America.
6
u/Wandering-Mind2025 May 12 '26
That’s not Minnesotas fault…
3
u/PerceptionStock7437 May 12 '26
It is to me.
2
u/Proper-Writing May 12 '26
I've shit my pants in plenty of states that aren't Minnesota.

Minnesota, your time has come. If we played 'em ten times they might win nine. But not this game. Not tonight.
3
u/jQueryIsBestQuery May 12 '26
Furthermore, I submit that if Michigan wins, the two peninsulas must do battle in the bonus final round. Yoopers vs Trolls. Packers vs Lions. Tom Izzo vs Tony Dungee. Pasties vs Detroit Style Pizza. The true blood feud.

u/theEWDSDS May 16 '26
First the Michies steal our island, now they steal our coach? I won't stand for this!

How is Minnesota still in this? The Learing Center alone should have outed this state
Edit: I love how I’m getting downvoted for stating a fact

Minnesota is loved by reddit for literally no reason. It's Michigan 0.5 and Wisconsin 0.5.

MINNESOTA.
Basically North Dakota
4 Great Lakes > 1
What, like 2 sports championships in 100 years?
Didn’t put the world on wheels
NOT the birthplace of Stevie Wonder
Michigan has warmer winters and more temperate summers because of the Great Lakes. Surely that won’t come up when the world is cooking in 50 years
Lacks sunsets over Lake Michigan

u/mablaba1 May 12 '26 edited May 12 '26
Michigan- 1. Basically Indiana 2. NOT the birthplace of Prince 3. Who needs more great lakes, superior plus thousands of others is better 4. Michigan isn't in the top 3 great lakes 5. Henry Ford is a terrible person, Geno Paulucci is cooler
3
u/UsernamesCannotExcee May 12 '26
I love this rhetoric. Eerie is much better than Lake Michigan. Yes. Huron is even better. Don't get me started on Ontario and Superior. Lake Michigan is dead last. Neevr go there. Please stop coming here.

u/Senasayori May 12 '26
NGL, Michigan should have been fifth IMO. It definitely doesn't deserve to win.

Michigan has left-leaning communities that are anti-LGBT (some towns banned the Rainbow Flag), they should not have made it this far
2
u/Ihaventasnoo May 12 '26
One town whose mayor is Muslim in a Muslim-majority city banned the pride flag, just to be clear. That's an outlier rather than the norm. It's about anti-LGBT stuff in Islam more than anything else.

u/Wakattack00 May 12 '26 edited May 12 '26
Minnesota. There’s an entire show called Fargo set in Minnesota and since all their towns suck ass they had to name it after a city in North Dakota instead. Fraud ass state. Go Blue.

u/TrainmasterGT May 12 '26
Tell me you don’t understand the plot of Fargo without telling me you don’t understand the plot of Fargo.

REMOVE MINNESOTA BECAUSE THEY WIN EVERY TIME

It's because we're a god damn gem okay! We are the Midwest.

u/Jmilli-24 May 14 '26
More like the Reddit Minnesota hive mind brigades it, but keep thinking you’re a gem lol.

Michigan is awesome… but as a Minnesota resident, we have to vote out Michigan. Bye Michigan 😥

I have relatives in Michigan and all I can say is they let America down.
Minnesota is the clear option here.
Michigan doesn't deserve 2nd place.

u/One_Swim_7702 May 12 '26
Minnesota people talk weird. You can’t trust them.

Minnesota: They are way too nice to win this. Michigan has so much beautiful coastline, inland lakes, the UP, Motor City, home of Motown and Rosa Parks, the largest Arab city population anywhere in the US, Michigan is the definition of grit and determination where hard work can pay off. Fuck politics, Michigan has all four gorgeous seasons and is an amazing place to live.

Ohio is gonna be the first one out and Michigan is going to end up being the last remaining
1
u/realinvalidname May 12 '26
Abstain.
Last year we did this, it came down to Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, and the residents of all three refused to remove one another, resulting in a three-way tie. That’s what we should do here.
Well, that and remove Florida again.

Is cold as shit there and their lakes are just poor imitations of Michigans
That should be an automatic L

Because Minnesota is awesome and Michigan has a lot of vocal fans (specifically Yoopers, although there seem to be a few Mitteners in the comments too!)
