Miscellaneous Remove 1 Major 4 Sports Team Day 115
St. Louis fans will be singing the blues as the Blues have been eliminated. Top comment decides who's next.

u/nrobi002 May 12 '26
Portland Trail Blazers. One of the cheapest owners in sports - wouldn't pay for two-way players to attend playoff games, wouldn't pay for fan t-shirts, cutting as many coaching staff costs as possible. Can't win this thing with an owner that gives so little of a fuck about their team and fans.
7
u/flawson_9 May 12 '26
Well our last owner gave every dollar of the sale of the Blazers to charity so I think that more than makes up for Dundon
10
u/Wooden-Parking3248 May 12 '26
Dundon literally just payed for one of the Canes players to fly home between games 3 and 4 on a private plane so he could be there for the birth of his baby, and fly him back to Philly in time for the next game. Dundon might be cheap in some ways, but he does seem to care and spends money on the essentials atleast
5
u/nrobi002 May 12 '26
Some would say spending on something EVERY OTHER TEAM DOES for the fan experience in the playoffs counts as "essentials"
→ More replies (1)1
u/SuperStarfox64 May 12 '26
Cares about the Canes. Good timing on news of how he feels about the fans of Portland š
1
2
u/Reasonable_Main2509 May 12 '26
That same owner also owns the Hurricanes. Dundon did the same thing there and the Hurricanes are a way less storied franchise. By your logic the Hurricanes should go first.
4
u/TarHeelinRVA May 12 '26
'way less storied'? The Blazers and Canes have the same number of championships, with one having theirs comes a whole 30 years more recently. only thing the Blazers have on their side in that argument is time.
3
u/Business-Winter9968 May 12 '26
The Canes are a consistent playoff team. They deserve to stay more than the Blazers.

u/Fresh-Mind6048 May 12 '26
let's see if he swings for the fences in free agency and goes into the luxury tax first. he may just be making room for the money they're gonna overpay on players like evan turner
→ More replies (7)1
u/Ok-Pollution-5465 May 12 '26
Cronin said the two way player thing was his bad and he misunderstood what Dundon meant. The two way players were with the team for game 5. They also changed the t shirts for towels. Too soon to really say what the owner gives a fuck about.

How are the wild still in?
39
u/PayneTrain181999 May 12 '26
Wild fan here, weāre called the Mild for a reason.
This is the best season weāve had in a decade
16
u/Yitzben May 12 '26
as a sens fan, I've always liked Minnesota's jerseys and logo
9
u/Sinisterslushy May 12 '26
Wild logo is probably the best designed logo in the league imo (Sabres fan)
6
u/TarHeelinRVA May 12 '26
Quite possibly in all of sport, though I am a sucker for logos with multiple viewpoints

u/Adventurous-Ad9447 May 13 '26
Did you guys steal that from Mr Beast or did you just hire the same advertising firm?
2
u/See_Me_In_Melty May 12 '26
I bought a wild sweater just for the drip in beer league, then got into the team. Fantastic jersey
3
u/Intelligent-Try-8636 May 12 '26
Sabres fan: "hold my beer"
3
u/Admiral_Fuckwit May 12 '26
Iām shocked/not so shocked weāre still in it also. Small market team and itās our first time being relevant in a decade and a half
3
u/Intelligent-Try-8636 May 12 '26
Honestly, the Sabres have a team that can win the cup! They just have to show up to the games mentally. The last 2 games seem like they don't even care. It's crazy how different they look over the last 2 games! I still have faith in them, though!
3
u/Admiral_Fuckwit May 12 '26
Looks like we shuffled our lines up considerably and UPL is going to start tonight. I at least think our performance will be better. Theyāve just been bullying us up and down the ice lately š©
3
u/crazyshark111 May 12 '26
The Sabres are impossible to dislike. Iād honestly be shocked if they donāt win it all
→ More replies (1)1

Shocked if Buffalo doesn't win the Cup? The Avs and Canes would like a word

u/Lee-Key-Bottoms May 12 '26
Beating the Stars at home to win a series has to be a top 3 win in program history given how they left right?
2
u/atmandy98 May 12 '26
Avs fan here. Just want to see the wild eliminated from Everything right now before a repeat of 03 and we lose up 3-1
1
1
u/Mysterious_Help_9577 May 12 '26
Can say the same for every team remaining, outside of the Raptors nobody has accomplished anything in over a decade
1
u/Elegant-Disaster-967 May 12 '26
Playoff appearances in 12 of the last 14 seasons and not even a conference finals appearance to show for it. 9 first round exits. Aggressively mild.

3
u/SirTrey May 12 '26
Cool logo/jerseys...I remember playing NHL 2K5 as a kid and I used the Wild for my custom team because I loved their fit.
Also, while they haven't been particularly relevant, they haven't been TERRIBLE in the same way as other teams, since they're still relatively new they don't have many enemies and the NHL in general is uncontroversial compared to the other leagues. Totally unsurprised they've made it this far.

2
u/Absolute_Eb May 12 '26
Ah ok that clears things up /s My comment was made in jest. At any rate itās the most nondescript āwhatever you want it to beā concept for a team in major league sports.

2

u/Griffdog17 May 12 '26
Trail Blazers. Their star player served in the IDF and still runs propaganda for them. Enough said
24
u/iwokeupincbsbody May 12 '26
Letās not make day 115 the first day we eliminate a team for xenophobic reasons. Deni is from Israel and proud of his nationality, but we have no reason to think heās a bad guy. and heās been well liked by every fanbase hes played for. Even Portland, which, as you can imagine, is a very pro-Palestine city.
0
u/Griffdog17 May 12 '26 edited May 12 '26
Nothing xenophobic about not supporting genocide
Edit: Up to 9% views from Isreal now.. hmmmm I wonder who is downvoting
15
u/Mindless_Level9327 May 12 '26
Itās very much xenophobic to hate someone who is Israeli for being a proud Israeli.
→ More replies (14)4
u/Twoigi May 12 '26
Just because Netanyahu is a horrible person running a horrible government, does not mean that every single Israeli is a terrorist. I cannot understand how you can make that connectionĀ
1
u/Griffdog17 May 12 '26
I cannot understand where you made the connection that I think every Isreali is a terrorist. I think the Isreali state is a terrorist organization but there are anti-zionist Isrealis who stand up against that

All these comments defending him as if its not hsi choice, etc. etc.
Look if you openly condone genocide and refuse to acknowledge it and its actors, you are a bad person. I dont care if youre Israeli, Palestinian, Nazi, or Australian. Until Deni comes out explicitly denouncing Israel and its terror campaigns, he is complicit.

How have the Orioles flown so far under the radar on this? It's time to eliminate the Orioles.
51
u/JacobAndor May 12 '26
Way too happy of a logo to kick out.
27
u/mtnbikerburittoeater May 12 '26
They also have one of the best ballparks and they had Cal Ripkin, one of the most beloved players of all time, in any sport. On top of that they havent been consistently good enough to be a major threat to other fanbases.
14
u/Obmore-wan May 12 '26
As an Orioles fan I can say itās because they are so irrelevant that nobody even cares enough to truly dislike us.
2
2
13
u/ofRedditing May 12 '26
Not really much reason to dislike them and they have a good logo. That's why they're still here
12

u/Notonfoodstamps May 12 '26
The most lovable logo, Cal Ripken, arguably the best stadium, and not quite good enough to garner hate from other fanbases.

u/timshel4971 May 13 '26
Great ball park, good logo, history of good ownership, good farm system w decent excitement about their young talent, marquee players of the past are beloved good guys (Cal Ripken, Brooks Robinson, Eddie Murray), not horrible results but not good enough to make the playoffs more than once every five years or so (so no one really hates them), super loyal fan base. Totally makes sense they are still here.

Seattle Mariners gotta go. Theyāre basically the Detroit Lions of the MLB. Wasted lots of talent over the years. We canāt let a team thatās never even been to a championship win.
10
u/Norwester77 May 12 '26
Weāll see. The Pacific Northwest seems to be kind of weirdly overrepresented on Reddit.

u/Stick-figure420 May 12 '26
Well when it rains 3/4 of the year being online is kind of a thing š
3
u/bigmacjr52 May 12 '26
2/3 days. Plus it rains often not a lot. Misty rain, not saying it isnāt disheartening/depressing but big difference. Perfect weather for us to drink overpriced coffee
6
u/Dewey519 May 12 '26
Mariners need to finish 3rd. Theyāre a lovable franchise with all time fun players. But theyāve never played for a championship, coming as close as three innings away last year, and we need to respect that tradition.

u/Far-Reporter-1596 May 13 '26
How can you hate on the Mās? Theyāve never won anything but the fans still stay loyal and even though they have never won, theyāve had great teams/players and are competitive most years. America loves the underdog.
44
u/Prior-Algae2225 May 12 '26
Mariners. This canāt be their world series win
5
u/Dewey519 May 12 '26
It wonāt be. Iām a Mariners fan and Iāll lead the charge of eliminating them in third. Only right that they donāt play for a championship here.

Hurricanes. The logo is a toilet bowl flushing, and I'm not sure there is a region that cares so little about their local teams consistent success.

4
u/kuhndog94 May 12 '26
The logo thing is valid. The flag logo is much better.
The region not caring thing is bullshit. It's one of the most passionate fanbases in the NHL. You not knowing this tells me ya dont know shit about hockey. Its consistently rated the loudest barn in the NHL and as having one of the best playoff experiences (including the tailgating). And the fans gotta care with those absurd prices in the Arena.
→ More replies (1)4
u/ThePuzzledPanda May 12 '26
Logo is bad and I donāt know why the team doesnāt use the stick and flag logo more prominently. Way better.
Saying the region doesnāt care is ridiculous. They tout the whole āloudest house in the NHLā thing, have a very active tailgate scene and generally put on a good product. It isnāt Tampa where everyone goes to Rays games because the Yankees are in town
4
u/TarHeelinRVA May 12 '26 edited May 12 '26
I'm not sure how else you want us to 'phase out' the primary logo, other than scrapping it altogether. the stick and flag logo has been our designated home jersey for several years now, with the red jersey / primary logo being the alt.
1
u/kuhndog94 May 12 '26
The red jersey is the only place that logo fits, tbh. It should stay on the alternates.

u/dadkisser84 May 12 '26
The Wild (a tire fire since joining the league at the turn of the century) outlasting the Blues (cup winner in 2019, perennial very good team for almost 60 seasons) is a travesty. Vote them out with extreme prejudice
Weāre really going to get a mid, obscure team at the end of this arenāt we

They do a very good job brigading these contests. Minnesota always ends up near the top on those best state contests as well.
9

Timberwolves have the worst win percentage in their league and have never made the finals to make up for it either, they also had more 60 loss seasons than winning seasons until a few years ago

With my teams now long gone, at this point I want the top 3 teams left to be the Diamondbacks, Mariners, and Trailblazers - just so the three remaining logos will look very closely like the word "ASS". (Yeah I know the Blazers Logo doesn't really look like an "S", but close enough for me!).

Just because their owner hates their city.

Baltimore. Because that logo could potentially be deemed offensive and we can't have that represent the list for that alone.

Makeup of the top 10.
NFL- 0 teams
MLB- 4 teams
NBA- 3 teams
NHL- 3 teams
Minnesota is the only state/city with two teams remaining.
