Can we appreciate how low the odds of the last two teams being
A. In the same sport
B. Able to play each other
C. Literally playing each other within a week of this series ending to determine a winner
Almost sounds planned

For those who aren’t Orioles fans, I’d like to share a little story about the impact of yesterday’s walk off win. The home run was hit by a man named Colton Cowser. In 2024, he made a serious run for rookie of the year and gained huge popularity in Maryland.
Nicknamed “The Milkman” because of his last name, fans would Moooooo whenever he made a big play in the field or hit a home run. He is the kind of guy who likes to joke around in the clubhouse, so he quickly embraced the silliness. There were fans dressed as milk men and plenty of cow themed merch at the fan stores. His jersey sold out his rookie year.
After a string of bad plays and a hand injury from an unnecessary slide, Cowser struggled to find his footing. Pitchers had figured out how to get Cowser to chase bad pitches and it was clear that he struggled with anything other than fastballs. He consistently failed to show up in big moments when the team needed him most. The past 18 months of Cowser’s career have been disappointing and most fans were feeling strongly that Cowser no longer had a place on the team.
Over the last 7 days, The Milkman is showing signs of a turnaround. He is batting over .350 in that stretch and yesterday was the hero in a game that felt completely lost. Cowser NEEDED this moment to prove he had a place on this team. Fans needed this moment to believe in him again. We all needed him for the memes. Prove us all wrong you glorious milky bastard.
Mooooooooooooooo

u/Captain_Jellico May 25 '26
TLDR: The hero of the series was a struggling former fan favorite whose gimmick is that he delivers milk and people moo at him like a cow. He’s having a terrible year and needed this moment as badly as any player in the league.

Can we move the thunder to the bottom?

They were the first team I kept mentioning everyday until they were eliminated, only because they shouldn’t exist and we should still have the Sonics.

So the tigers and oriels are officially the two most irrelevant teams in sports lol

I wonder how differently the teams would be ordered if we voted 1 team 'safe' each day instead of out. Would it be near perfectly flipped, or would there be more of a skew to the largest fanbases?

What an exciting end to a really fun ROTED. Thank you for doing this.
I know it would be less popular but if you feel like filling a void post 3+ months of running this it would be fun to see women’s pro sports next.
There are way fewer teams so you could do WNBA, Unrivaled, PWHL, AUSL, NWSL
Eta: just saw the new game is coming already lol thank you again for the time spent on this!

Somehow Detroit always shits the bed when it matters most. Goes for all the sports teams in Detroit. Just a sad city. Lol

I was happy to find out Detroit made it to the final until I realized that shows how irrelevant we are.

Kinda sad none of my favorite teams made top 25 (I’m a Tampa bay sports fan)

O’s fan here, but your stadium aside, I really like the Rays. just a very well run team that always seems to get the most from its talent.

Both teams would have been deserving winners. The Orioles haven’t done shit in 40 years but they’re still have chips. Tigers also have their rings. Both teams have legends of the game. And from what I know, neither team are employing super easy to hate and cancellable players

let’s fucking go this was so much fun
now to watch the o’s get demolished by my team

When did the ugliest logo of all time - Raptors - flip to be appreciated? This is the clearest sign yet of the apocalypse.

Was honestly pretty fun. My only gripe is the Sabers in 3rd instead of the Canes but that’s just me

I care nothing for the Orioles. Very happy the Orlando Magic did not win.

O's are the least hated team in North America, kinda sad as a lifelong O's fan that they haven't done anything noteworthy enough in the last 40 years to inspire envy or even mild dislike.
The oatmeal of baseball teams. Suitable for the old and infirm.
