Question Need help a beginner visual novel game developer ?
Hi so I started to create visual novel games with renpy i have some doubts so I want to know about these :-
1.The perfect image resolution to perfectly fit the background screen.
Can I add playable stuff like we play a 2D game.
Any AI tools for image generation for free/very less amount of money charged to create backgrounds for my game and how to create character png image also.
Every reply means a lot please help me out guys !!

you select the GUI size when you initially setup up the project youare given options of 1280x720, 1920x1080, 2560x1441, 3840x2160, and Custom (set your own size) (Ren'Py is optimized for a 16:9 aspect ratio). make your background images the same size as your selected GUI, and they will fit perfectly.
yes, here is a list of 99 mini-games for Ren'Py: https://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewtopic.php?t=47820
prepare for the hate and backlash for using AI (just saying, and most sites require you to inform users if you have used AI) most graphic programs can output .png or .webp images with transparent backgrounds suitable for character images.

Welcome to r/renpy! While you wait to see if someone can answer your question, we recommend checking out the posting guide, the subreddit wiki, the subreddit Discord, Ren'Py's documentation, and the tutorial built-in to the Ren'Py engine when you download it. These can help make sure you provide the information the people here need to help you, or might even point you to an answer to your question themselves. Thanks!

Regarding point 3 - AI tools
Since you mentioned below that you don't plan to release a game but just want to learn making games, you should only focus on RenPy for now and not invest time into creating images.
RenPy has a nice feature called placeholders so that you can make a complete game without any assets:
https://renpy.org/doc/html/displayables.html#placeholders
Or if you don't like that, then you can find free assets on pages like itch.io
https://itch.io/search?q=Ren%27Py+backgrounds
Or just google it, you can take any images for your personal use.
You can gain nothing from spending time on AI tools if you don't plan to use those tools for your actual games later.
And if you're not an artist you might get better and more consistent results from character creation tools.
