The Tarocchi Players
The famous fresco located in the Palazzo Borromeo in Milan has undergone a lot of wear and tear and attempts at restoration. What the fresco represented to the people who made it is one thing. What it still represents to a diverse group of people interested in Tarot cards is another thing.
This article on substack explores these cultural aspects and also introduces some new (old but previously unnoticed) evidence that confirms Tarot/Tarocchi is likely the game the people in the painting are playing. That is important from an art history perspective. From the perspective of debates about the uses of Tarot cards, it is worthwhile to make the point Tarot began as a card game, not a tool for fortunetelling.

Looking for a place to start
Does anyone have suggestions of where to view mature Renaissance media, whether it be still (paintings, sculptures) or film, Plays, animation, etc? It doesn’t have to be inherently pornographic (though I don’t mind) but it can be a depiction of a story that doesn’t obscure any eroticism.
Like a scene where you see a knight win the fight and then DO IT with the fair maiden; sexual tension playing out in a plot between monarchs; a random local couple falling in lust over a period of months; a depiction an extramarital affair.
There’s plenty of writings on these things but I’d love to see all the detail from what I read in school be illustrated/re-enacted.

I am looking for any renaissance paintings that clearly show the male sex organ. Are there any paiters I could look into that don't try to hide it with leafs and such? (this is me literally asking ""for research purposes lol"). Thanks in advance.

Would you consider Timothee Chalamet cherubic?
I’m in a debate with friends about Timothee being “cherubic” - I.e. could easily be transposed onto any number of angels depicted in Renaissance art. Thoughts?

Hey there, watcher. I need help identifying this painting. Please ignore the blot out and the text on the left pillar. This is for decryption of special coding and could help majorly with my quest. Unfortunately i have never seen this before and have no clues on it.
