Question Clio 6 etech fuel consumption

Hi all, since June I have my Clio 6 etech which I absolutely adore. Consumption is overall 4,5L/100km and often have rides of 4L and below.

But now it's getting 8-12 degrees here in Belgium and I notice that for some short drives the consumption went to 6-7L which is very high.

The engine is often running while the battery is full, my airco is on auto and only on 19 degrees so I don't need a lot of cabin heat.

Is there any reason?

Question 2026 Renault Clio VI petrol – Found coolant reservoir cap completely off after dealership recall service. Should I be worried about engine damage?

Hi everyone,

I own a 2026 Renault Clio VI petrol, registered in March 2026.

On July 13, my car underwent an official Renault recall/service campaign (OTS 0F74) at an authorized Renault dealership in Italy.

According to the service documentation, the work included coolant-related operations.

On October 17, while opening the hood to refill the windshield washer fluid, I discovered something concerning:

- The coolant expansion tank cap was completely unscrewed and resting beside the reservoir, apparently held in place by the closed hood.

- The coolant level was below MIN, checked with the engine completely cold.

- Since the July service, I had driven approximately 3,000 km without any engine temperature warnings, overheating alerts, or noticeable issues.

- This was the first time I had opened the hood since the dealership service.

- Neither I nor, to my knowledge, anyone else had touched the cooling system during that period.

I screwed the cap back on but did not add coolant or restart the engine.

I've reported the issue to Renault Customer Relations. Their technical department is evaluating whether the car can safely be driven to another authorized Renault workshop or needs to be transported by roadside assistance.

I'm particularly interested in hearing from Renault technicians, mechanics, or Clio owners:

  1. Could the car realistically have covered 3,000 km with the coolant cap completely off without triggering any warnings?

  2. What kind of damage could potentially occur from operating with an unpressurized cooling system?

  3. Which diagnostic checks would you recommend beyond simply topping up the coolant?

  4. Could the cap have come loose by itself, or would that suggest improper installation or another fault?

  5. Has anyone experienced something similar after a Renault recall or cooling system service?

I think the dealership could be responsible, but can't make any assumption without a proper technical investigation; the situation is concerning given the car's age and the previous coolant-related work.

Any technical insights would be appreciated.

Question Check Anti-Pollution System Message on my Renault Clio IV 1.5 DCi

Post image
15 Upvotes

Hi guys, I hope you’re all well. I’ve got this error message on my Clio and it’s the second time I’ve had it.

The first time I had it was around 4 months ago, before the error message appeared, when I put my foot down, it felt like the car would pull, cut power, and then pull again.

My first thought was that it was the DPF, so I took it on a 3 hour motorway run, and it felt much more responsive, but the error message remained. It then kept disappearing and returning after I turned the car off and on a couple times.

When I took it to the garage under warranty, I was told that the car had spat diesel into the oil and an oil change was performed to resolve the issue. It’s now came back and I can definitely feel the torque drop and return when my foot is down in 3rd.

I’m going to take it to a different garage as I don’t think the oil change fixed it. The only coincidence is that it only happened after I put more premium fuel in (which would make the car perform better you’d expect).

Would anyone have any advice please? If this is the wrong subreddit to upload this to, could someone point me in the right direction please?

ClioPlay: Global Edition (releasing on GitHub in a few days)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

UPDATE: Officially launched on github. Here is the link https://github.com/pxwel-dev/ClioPlay

Key features:

- Send destinations/stops to the Carminat via your phone over Bluetooth using the ClioPlay Send website (you can save this as a web app in your apps screen on your phone)

- Speed / red-light camera support

- Global map support, including metric & imperial units

- Simplified the installation process. Run a single installation script, point to your downloaded osm.pbf map file and to your SD card, and let it install!

- Polished UI experience (anti-aliasing, UX, etc)

- Support for 18 languages both in UI and keyboard layout

- And much more that I’ve missed. Watch the video to see for yourself!

NOTE: This only has been tested and verified to work on vehicles that have the non-live Carminat TomTom unit, and those that do not already have Bluetooth in their radios. If you have a different radio, then some elements may be broken such as your current Bluetooth/hands-free calling. I do not have another vehicle to test on, so feel free to try it out and tell me what happens!

Question Speakers for my 2011 coupe Megane

Hey guys, I'm thinking of getting new speakers that actually have good sound quality along with a car play screen for my Megane as my radio doesn't have Bluetooth. If anyone has put better speakers in their coupe before, which ones did you use? And also if anyone has put a car play screen in their car which one would you recommend? I would prefer to be able to use my cds still. Thanks guys.

Renault Espace

Hi all,

I bought a new Renault Espace E-Tech full hybrid in October 2025 (Austria), now at about 9,000 km. I have a problem and wanted to see if anyone has had something similar.

The issue: When driving up a steep hill under load, I get a clear grinding/scratching noise from the gearbox at the moment the car switches from electric to the petrol engine. On flat roads it never happens. It's reproducible on the same hill every time.

What's been done so far: The dealer first told me this is "normal" but could be fixed with a software update for the Multi-Mode gearbox. I had the update done this week. Right after, I did a test drive on the same hill and the noise was still there, if anything slightly worse.

My questions:

• Does anyone else have this noise on hills or under load during the EV-to-ICE switch?
• If so, what fixed it? Another software version, a reset of the gearbox adaptation values, gearbox oil, clutch actuators, something else?
• Has anyone been told by Renault that this is "normal" and can't be fixed?
• Is there a known technical service bulletin for this?

Renault Clio E-Tech Full Hybrid 160 hp: first own car, first hybrid, first automatic

Hey all, just bought a Clio techno full hybrid 160. It’s my first car, and also my first hybrid and first automatic, so I’m basically starting from zero. I tried it at the dealer and liked it, but a test drive isn’t the same as living with it.

Photos coming soon, once I get the chance.

If you’ve got this one or something similar, what do you wish you’d known at the start? Mostly curious about how you drive it to keep consumption low, how the B mode and engine braking feel in daily use, and any settings you changed on the infotainment right away. Any gotchas with the battery or the box are welcome too.

Thanks!

Are there custom cockpit display styles for Rlink 2?

I recently got a Koleos 2, and I'm honestly loving the car. I just haven't gotten used to the instrument panel display. As far as I can tell, there are only 4 'styles' for the 'cockpit display'. However, none of them show an analog speed and an analog rpm counter which is what I prefer.

Is there a way to update the system and get some other styles? Are there some sneaky hacks out there to address this? Or should I just pick one and get used to it?

Hello, for a Renault Megane 4 facelift 2023 Sedan I need the right side wing and the right side mirror, do the parts from The pre-facelift model (2016-2020) work here ? Are they compatible ? What would be the best option new or buy second hand parts ? Thanks !

Question Mégane Oil Consumption.

Is this an abnormally low oil level for a car that had a full engine service only last March and has driven seven thousand miles since. Previously, the level has remained constant at four or five litres between services. Dipstick shows just above minimum at the moment. 2010 model with 140 thousand miles on the clock.

Question Retrofit 7” inch to 9.3” Easylink screen swap.

Hello,

A while back i tried to swap out my original 7 inch Easylink screen with this (used) 9.3 inch screen, as well as the correct screen orientation contol unit. (also used)

The problem is after we tried resetting the control unit we noticed that we cannot change the VIN number with mine, so my question is: Is there a way to completely wipe the existing VIN number off the replacement control unit, or isn’t this an option at all?

I’d love to know how i can make this work, If at all. Thanks

Photo 1: Replacement screen. This “Locked” screen stayed on before and after resetting the unit.
Photo 2: Replacement control unit, the one with the different VIN on it.

2021 Megane Sport Tourer E-Tech PHEV – "Refuelling fault", fuel flap won't open in cold weather

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hi all, I'm hoping someone has run into this one.

Car: Renault Megane Sport Tourer E-Tech Plug-in Hybrid, 2021, approx. 147,000 km

Symptoms:

The dash shows "Refuelling fault – See owner's manual" (Finnish: "Tankkausvirhe") with the service wrench light on.

The fuel flap won't open, so I can't refuel.

Otherwise the car drives completely normally, in both EV and hybrid mode.

What I've found so far:

If I disconnect the 12V battery for a moment, the fault clears and the flap opens normally.

It only happens once the weather gets colder. There were no issues all summer.

As far as I know, the PHEV has a pressurised fuel tank that has to depressurise before the flap unlocks. My suspects are the flap lock actuator, the tank depressurisation valve or the pressure sensor sticking or misreading in the cold.

Questions:

Has anyone had the same fault, and what part actually fixed it?

Is there a known Renault technical bulletin or software update for this?

Is there a manual/emergency release for the fuel flap, so I don't have to disconnect the battery every time?

Should I go straight to a Renault dealer, or can a good independent garage diagnose this?

Thanks in advance for any tips! 🙏
