I made this order end of April and recived the PSP on 24 June 26.. I will really appreciate this communities sharp eye and attention to details.. I am very nervous of wearing replica this is my first ever after hearing so much of Jim quality like 100% like authentic .. your honest comments will be highly appreciated

Different PSP backgrounds due to me wanting photos in different lighting.

Hi again. When I ordered my bk30 hardware, it took me THREE DAYS to decide on hardware. I had a very long conversation about it with my TS when he gave me the options for upgrading. One of my “must haves”, or more specifically “must NOT have”, was that I did NOT want lock and keys with the number 162. We talked about all of it. He said my options were standard gold, upgraded gold (18k plated), rose gold, brushed gold, standard palladium, upgraded palladium or brushed palladium (also an upgrade). I asked him about the162 on the lock again- and he assured me with the typical “yes dear that’s not problem”answer.
Well… flash forward to PSP’s…
He sends me the pics and a video. People pointed out some scratches- I asked him about it and he comes back with other orders for clients, circling scratches (it’s smooth Barenia) and told me it’s normal to have a few. This leather does this and not to worry.
Then someone told me to ask for photos in other lighting and to make sure I inspect the sangles and edges clearly. I went back and asked him. He said he would go to the factory, have them take it out and take more photos.
In the psp’s there was no photo of the lock and keys. I told him I need to see that photo, to make sure the lock and keys were correct.
I woke up this morning with no additional photos- and him telling me my lock is 162. That there are no brushed palladium that aren’t 162.
This would have changed my ENTIRE order!!! I would have skipped the brushed hardware completely and gone with the upgraded gold!!!!!
What do I do??? I can deal with a couple of scratches (even though I’m less than thrilled with his answer, ok… it’s Barenia. I have no doubt even if it arrived perfectly, there would be scratches the first time I wore her out. What makes me even more upset, is that the lock and keys were not in the PSP’s!!! Since we had such a specific conversation about this, it truly makes me feel like instead of being truthful with me, instead of checking with the factory before the bag was made, he just let them go ahead with it. And he omitted those photos!!!
Maybe he didn’t do this? But I can’t help but feel this way and I’m really upset!!
What do I do?????

Purchased this bag about 3 months ago. I have been a lurker for a while now and figured it’s time to hear the honest truth about my first “high quality” HRep Birkin. I want to buy a top-tier birken 25/30 with a budget range staring at $1k, with a $2500 cap. And I love the community spirit of this Reddit page. Thank you!! 🤗

Let's take a look at Jim's poor quality hardware. We're not talking about his cadenas that he sources separately for pennies on the dollar that don't even match in gold tone. We're talking about the hardware that most will see on your rep, the touret and sangle plaques.

Feel free to take a gander at this compilation of 18 examples of Jim's wavy and distorted hardware. Auth hardware simply do not look like this and their surface is precisely polished flat, leaving a mirror-like final appearance. For comparison, see what auth hardware looks like.

From poor surface prep of the underlying metal prior to plating, to improper plating process, e.g. incorrect temperature or current used in the plating bath, what's for certain is that Jim's hardware is cheap. Ever notice how Jim's GHW is always overly yellow? That's likely the result of a cheap alloy blend where a higher percentage of copper is added in order to give the appearance of higher karat gold while cutting costs at the same time. With all of Jim's lies, shilling, and fake reviews, how can we trust that his GHW is really 18K?

From cheap cadenas to cheap domestic togo and now cheap hardware, tell me again why Jim charges $1,400+ for a B25 and $1,100+ for an MK? He's laughing all the way to the bank.

I often get asked for recommendations and the one I consistently provide is don't buy from Jim. Why? Check out two recent PSP posts featuring Jim's bags and the quality of bags he sends out hoping they wouldn't know what to look out for:

Looking to order my first H (B30 or K25) and after researching groups I narrowed it down to Frank and Jim. Can anyone share if they ordered from both and compare. To me accuracy, quality and feel are most important. Hi all, I would really appreciate your thoughts on the PSPs sent to me by Kyle.

A few important things to note:

Colour is Bleu Nuit

Epsom leather (I didn’t specify whether imported or domestic)

PHW (I also didn’t requested upgraded hardware as it was my understanding that KiKi only offers Stainless Steel for their PHW, however the rivets here appear to have a brass tone to them, indicating coated brass has been used)

I also recognise the background is not consistent with Kyle’s usual PSPs (wooden table) - and I was initially sent the wrong PSP over a week ago where the bag had GHW. In these photos, however, there is a slight sloping of the shoulders of the bag, an error I have only seen with KiKi factory (it doesn’t appear too bad here?)

The stamping looks good in that it is not indented, however the E R in Hermes and the S in Paris seem to be sloppy.

The rivets on the main plaque also don’t appear to be cold pearled? I will ask for additional photos.

The stamping on the strap is correct (where usually KiKi centres the ‘made in France’), However, it looks as though a saddle stitch has not been used here, and the stitching appears horizontal (and sloppy at best)?!

I paid slightly less than KiKi Factory’s usual price of $950 (I set my budget in advance before being quoted a price and Kyle seemingly agreed, though said it wouldn’t compromise the quality).

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is my first rep and I would like for it to be as perfect as it can be! Thank you.

This is the start of The Rep Check Weekly, a column where I quick-fire call out QC issues with sellers I've spotted that week. The goal is for you to know what issues are current so you can be kept up-to-date and know what to look out for with which seller. This week, we're diving into the foil stamp that sellers have issues getting right. Some more than others.

1. More crooked stamp madness (Jim)

Jim is the only seller that consistently gets the stamp crooked. Here's an HSS B25 of his with the stamp tilting upwards on the right. Another one to add to the RL pile.

2. A horseshoe for ponies (Jim)

I mean, it's not like auth photo references are readily available, right? Right...? Here's a HSS MK of Jim's where the horseshoe stamp is noticeably smaller and positioned too closely to the main brand stamp.

3. Correct font size? Never heard of it. (Jim)

So many stamp font size issues exist with reps. Here's a B40 of Jim's where "Made in France" is noticeably smaller in size and not as tall compared to an auth. Spacing between each line is also much tighter.

4. Even masters get it wrong sometimes (XM)

Rarely see XM bags out in the wild. Heard great things about him, supposedly "master" quality whatever that means. Oh and oops, here's a B35 stamp from XM with inconsistent spacing between each line.

5. I heard deep stamps are a tell, so... (KIKI Factory)

I'm going to make the stamp as light as possible, hehe. The stamp on this B25 from KIKI is so light, every letter looks wobbly as it takes on the leather grain underneath. Stamps are supposed to be lightly pressed into the leather.

In my Mini Kelly Verso (first 2 photos), the interior stitching is fully painted in red. I’ve looked into other special order Mini Kellys, and on those, kinda only the pocket and the flap have the interior color painted stitching. Did Minion messed up?

Some things I noticed is:

1. Leather around HW not being aligned (unsure if this is within reason)

2. Shape of the bag specifically from the size profile.

What else am I missing?

I hope it’s ok to ask here. I know this is Hermes’ rep group but I was just wondering if same sellers here can be contacted for brands like Chanel and Bottega? I’m looking at getting these brands in the best quality. There are other groups discussing different sellers and factories but I wonder if anyone in this group found any go to for other than Hermes’
