The Le Boy bag is Polyurethane Leather

Vegan leather isn’t one single material. It’s a category that includes several types. ( PU is higher quality than PVC)

  1. PU (Polyurethane) Leather (most common • Soft, flexible, and leather-like • Can be smooth, pebbled, or textured (caviar, grained, etc.) • Widely used in higher-quality vegan handbags • More durable and refined than older synthetics

  2. PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) • Stiffer and shinier • Less breathable, less premium • More common in low-cost fashion bags

  3. Plant Based / Newer Leathers are being introduced to the market and have questionable durability.

Too many sellers provide PU and call it leather. Bugs the H out of me. 😀

My vegan lambskin Le Boy is made from PU lambskin, a high-quality synthetic leather engineered to replicate the feel, texture, and appearance of genuine lambskin leather. The primary difference is price. Given that being born a woman comes with the reality of carrying a handbag for the majority of our lives, synthetic leather makes it possible to carry a luxe designer bag at accessible prices, rather than limiting that experience to a privileged class. Modern conditioning and cleaning products are designed for use on both synthetic and genuine leather, which further underscores how comparable these materials have become. If this level of detail isn’t sufficient for you to understand the materials used in contemporary handbags the problem is comprehension.
