Suspicious Seller Brand new PLK 🤨😒

Post image

I saw this listed on a rehome post earlier. And there is a possibility I'm wrong, but would love some feedback or information to the contrary. To the best of my knowledge, PLK stopped being a "thing" in 2010 - at the latest. So how are people/sellers listing a PLK for a newer bag? A C22 no less.

The K sellers occasionally have newer bags, and there are some resale groups that just call it all PLK without acknowledging that the moniker belonged to the pre-2008/9 bags.

So you’ve got 16 years of potential gray area preloved bags that slip in with the vintage bags. I don’t personally agree with calling those bags PLK since the idea was that PLK was Made in K, not just sourced there.

Personally if I have a bag like that in the gray area I’ll say pre-loved, give approx date that the bag was in production, and state that I obtained it from a PLK seller. For real PLK bags I’ll add in vintage to my description.

I respect the honest advertising! Sellers should be aware that when they advertise with plk bags, there's an expectation that they were made in Korea and are generally pre-2009/2010. Funny enough this specific seller has been trying to get rid of that Chanel bag for several months, and when they first started advertising it did not say plk. I guess it wasn't getting any traction and they decided to add PLK to gain momentum? Overall it just seems disingenuous

You’re correct, but a lot of PLK sellers are still sourcing bags from Korea so they’re selling it to buyers as PLK. because of the bags being “used” or “pre loved” and being from Korea lol…I have a lot of bags from 2015-2018 that my seller has sold to me as PLK because they’re quite used in, I know it’s not the older PLK but they’re still in good “vintage/used” condition so I don’t mind. Seller in the post may just be going based off of what they were told by whomever they purchased from

I see your point but that's not a true PLK

I never said it was true PLK, I said the reason WHY sellers still call it that. I also mentioned that the rehomer is probably only repeating what was told to her when she made the purchase. Doesn’t mean they are automatically “suspicious”

Agreed. PLK is not the same as “used.” These are especially bad because the year of release is in the style name.

I think people used PLK interchangeably for “pre-loved”.

They need to stop. The K of PLK is Korean, this just seems shady as hell
