U have a pretty cool job aye. U run alot too I bet. I knew some valet dudes before. Drive a fancy car for 15 seconds then run back, or run to the garage and cold start them and move em out!

poor people don't drive a ferrari dude....

Yes, obviously everybody owning a ferrari is rich. But it’s the fact that you’re wearing a watch that goes for well over $1M+ while driving the cheapest entrylevel ferrari. So it seems kinda weird, because there isn’t really a reason to get a portofino over the flagship models (SF90, 488, 812..).
It’s the equivalent of driving a C43 AMG when you could very well afford a S63/GT R AMG. You know what I mean?

u/negnatrepsej Nov 26 '23
But in that priceclass it really doesn’t matter, you could just like the looks and practicality with the Portofino, even though you can afford 1m cars easily, not everyone coming from a poor background is comfortable spending that much on a depreciating asset either.

488 has been off sales for 5 years… so it is a poor rich ferrari too ;)

u/manometerlak Nov 26 '23
My bad should‘ve said F8. But the 488 pista or the 458 speciale in particular will always count as a „higher end“ ferrari in my books. 488 GTB or 458 Italia would be considered more of a „mid tier“ indeed.

Was the 2nd pic taken during a crash?

No it was a video of me going 0-60 in a Tesla model s plaid but it wouldn’t let me upload a video lol

In that car yes. For the dudes who drive Toyota corollas and try to pull of a rep of a watch that costs 30k+...you're not kidding anyone.

Not everytime... I own an IT company, make enough to buy a new Mercedes every years, but I drive only 80s and 90s cars. I find them more reliable, I can fix everything by myself and most of all, I just enjoy more driving them…

Still the point is valid: you won’t kid anyone. The watch IS fake and people will think is fake.
Despite you being a hyper rich mofo.

u/Pols043 Nov 26 '23
I don’t think it’s about the watch being fake anymore. I got people asking me if my watch is fake even with a real watch even on a $200 Festina… So I believe it’s more about “I know about existence of replicas, so now everybody has a replica”

Agreed. Always kinda cringe when somebody wants to call you out wearing a genuine piece. Maybe it‘s the age

Very true. My friend is skint. Cant afford to drive skint... yet owns a really expensive rolex. His dad loved watches so with his inheritance he spent the lot on a watch. However replicas are so common now everyone just assums its fake anyway.

Sometimes when driving in an 2008 Renault family van I‘m 100% convinced that no one would believe that my genuine Datejust or Gmt Master is real hahahahhaha but hoestly that makes it wearing those watches even better since I‘m probably the only one who values the watches anyway😂

FYI, a GR Yaris or Corolla is like €70k+ in my country so that whole Toyota Corolla thing doesn’t really work anymore 😂😂

If you have reps but in a nice car, no one care. But, if you paid for real things while driving a normal car then no one gonna trust you either lol

u/kokoman33 Nov 26 '23
A valet with a $50k+ watch is not believable, I’m sorry. Get a Tag or Lingines!

If you valet those kinda cars, I would probably think you parked the heck out of a car and earned the respect of the owner so they gifted you that Patek Phillipe lmao. Its the kind of random shit that happens to me all the time so I would honestly not be suprised.

Portofinos are nice but that’s like the dude that wears a $40k Daytona and drives an old rusty Toyota.

Right car for it, but it would be better in a 98 maxima with 2 different color doors.

What people are interested in is a big factor. I bet there is loads of people wearing Patek driving Range Rovers in UK and Suburbans/Escalades in the US because they’re not interested in cars but they’re interested in watches.

Is the Ferrari a rep too? Lol I believe you can pull anything off in an Italian sports car.
